Yeah – maybe she was painted at the Westy factory…  Any clue on the VIN tag?

We thought about velvet green (gorgeous color).  Info I’ve found indicates that for chassis numbers 216 000 001 to 217 148 459 velvet green (L 512) was used on two-tone paint jobs with pearl white (L 87) – but not with beige grey.  We’ve already committed to beige grey above, because I’ve had custom powder produced for beige grey and powdercoated some parts in it (parcel tray, safari frames, and a few other small parts).

I don’t know what’s on the VIN tag, but info I’ve found indicates that both 1959-1963 code SK654C and 1963-1967 code SK 308 (and SK 309) were beige grey over sealing wax red.

John/Pat – does the VIN tag show either of these codes?  As you know, she’s never been repainted from factory colors…

Oh boy – everything looks FANTASTIC!  Can’t wait to see her in paint.

Yeah – Lori and I decided we want to keep her the same way she left the factory – beige grey (L 472) over sealing wax red (L 53).  (Just my luck – red is an expensive color!  Sheesh!)

Whoa – Pat gets to work EARLY!!  THANKS for all the EXCELLENT craftsmanship!!

Since I’ve owned this bus for so long I knew it was basically straight and sound – but it’s been GREAT to see just how straight and sound she actually is after you guys have stripped her down and worked her over!!!

John – does the interior and undercarriage get primer?  Since you’d have to put the attachment on the dolly to get at the bottom, do you do that before the outside?  Just wondering…

    Whoa!  You dudes are badass!

We used to swill Colt 45 in high school – and got absolutely hammered, and fast!  And it’s only about 6.5%

These days I’ve been into various home-brew recipes for brown ales.  Also love me some Guinness.  As the brewery says: “Guinness is good for you!”

    How about you, Pat?

Ha!  Lori and I met in fourth grade(!)  But she didn’t have anything to do with me – she thought I was a “bad boy”.  Later she decided she liked it (ha!) – we started dating at 16 in 1969, after ending up as lab partners in her Uncle Charlie’s chemistry class.

I bought the bus in 1973 – we got married and bus camped to Alaska for our honeymoon in 1975.

And yes, the bus (our baby) looks soooooooo damn nice!!!!
