You could start a dispensary ๐Ÿ˜†

Ordered my “Ding Near Perfect” yesterday ๐Ÿ™‚ย , always hated the slide hammer.

Got the last of the removables off the cadaver, E brake handle, shift rod, rear hatch – all the fun stuff ๐Ÿ™„ย  Got to the hole under the seat pedestal, if transporters have a hell hole like a 914, this is it. Spent most of 2 days in this little spot, found more rust above my bulkhead repairs when I could see behind,ย but it’s solid now.

๐Ÿ’ก ! Need one of those.

I bet my doors won’t fit that well after I’ve “aligned” them ๐Ÿ˜ณย I’m always fighting that last little binding on the top hinge, the one that causes the cracking.

Dunno why I bought the 60 single either… softie for a transporter in need I guess. That Binz conversion idea is a bad one, too many parts to fab that KF don’t make, Binz’s are kinda ugly I think, compared to a factory dc, and from what I’ve seen those trucks are a freaking hack from the factory. I was thinking custom camper on the back, but it’s waay on the back burner, this thread is about ddwt’s ๐Ÿ˜†

I finished stripping the cadaver to the bone and stuck it on the rack, 4 wheeled dolly that works better on 3. There are welds that need to be finished that I could not get to any other way, and a big hole under the driver’s seat pedestal that couldn’t get fixed without the beam coming out. The suspension and trans need a good cleaning and there is lots of bare metal down there now that needs protection. Didn’t want to do it but knew it had to be done. I just added 6 months of time to this project.ย Drive train looks pretty good for 59 years old. Looks like og shocks on the rear, coil overs on the front ๐Ÿ™„ย to compensate for the torsion bar sticking out, I don’t think this rig saw too many miles.

I’m going to leave the little hacked in crooked gangsta windows in it Bubba, even though I really like panels. That means I get to chop up a og high hinge panel door ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Got the lower nose in yesterday, more Rust Bullet slopped on in the nose cavity, short upper nose fitted and coated on backside

Got the left C pillar and hinge pocket rebuilt yesterday, short rocker and cargo rocker burned in ๐Ÿ˜€ย Doing lower nose today, front floor next ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

I’ve been slathering Rust Bullet in the body cavities over my marginal sandblasting for a little protection.

Things are looking up for this poor bus!

Yes I’m ignoring the roof for now, getting the lower stuff back in place. It will need some shrinking and bending, and another hole closed up. ๐Ÿ™„

Snowing today, can’t go to real work ๐Ÿ˜€ย  ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

A little progress this week ๐Ÿ™‚

WW rockers I had in stock. I like the e coat on their metal but it doesn’t go inside the rockers so not much use there ๐Ÿ™„ย  Wish they would ship them in 2 pieces so they can be installed right.

C pillar and short rocker came out nice, cargo door should fit better now. I fucked up and didn’t buy the long C pillar for the other side, wasting time rebuilding that one now ๐Ÿ™„

Epic bus! That will be a standout after the KCW treatment. Can’t wait to see the engine lid in SWR. ๐Ÿ˜€

Like I said, first time for me for complete doglegs. Try that next time ๐Ÿ™‚

There is a whole order on what comes first when you are doing that much new metal. It can go smooth or not depending on the order of installation.

Inside first, why would anyone do it opposite?

The side gate is rotted out on the bottom. Like everything on that single.

If it was a 55 it would be a great project,ย will take a lot of new metal for ย just a 60 tho.

This thing is so fucked, it needs a new everything from the cab back, and a lot in front too. After I pulled the bed and floor off by hand I decided that the 58 was an easier project ๐Ÿ˜†

Dog leg going in, C pillar going out. Rocker today ๐Ÿ™‚

This is the first bus I’ve done complete doglegs on. I thought they would be hard to remove, clean up and align the new. They come out fast, clean up nice and have lots of points to align them properly. Iย have spent way too much time in the past repairingย doglegs! They are always full of hidden rust anyway.

Wife said yesterday “this bus is going to be all green soon” ๐Ÿ˜€
