Still moving forward, slower with the cooler weather. Little stuff, cleaning 36hp tin and sorting junk – threw away 2 36 cases now dammit, I have guts for 2 of ’em but no more empty cases, don’t want to take any more apart just for a case. Might be rethinking that route…

Glad this one’s a runner John! My favorite kind of project – minimal financial investment for the maximum return. Dragging home a total piece of rotten junk that everyone laughs about, combining it with parts laying around, add some skill and effort, and making a cool ride out of it.

Thanks for the offers Jesse and Ben, I have a 36 in pieces up in the attic I was saving for another project, I’ll rob the case from that. Internals look good on this one, probably just re-bearing it. But we’ll see…

Shit he probably knows all about it, the Bubba network has this place wrapped up tight.

Compression checks out good, heads look shiny under the 30 year old grease, A quick clean up, scrape off some old gunk and… Oh shit!20181116_124609[1]Guess it did have some water in it 🙁 It was holding oil till I started messing with it. So much for a quickie…20181116_125442[1]Damn!

Hanging parts… brake lines all in, cables, waiting on wheel cylinders to button up the brakes. Cleaned and painted the screw terminal starter. All cabin windows in place now too.

This 36 was in this bus before, came from a old ghia some years back, was kinda stuck and had signs of water down the carb but I got it started and ran a few laps around the yard a while ago. I’m going to clean it up and put it in.

Going to look great! The paint under the gas tank will look better than the outside of my current project!

My 59 droptop had the padded dash too, with carpet glued to it!

I’m only half as lucky as the guy that doubled his money on one 60 mango 🙂

Cutting out cargo floors on  a DC sucks…

Big time! Welding and grinding too!

Hope I never do that again!!

I purged this place of fiberglass completely last year when I dumped the 67. Still have my baja, but it’s all metal now.IMGP0768

Got my KCW box yesterday, thanks John and Gretchen for the goodies and careful packaging! We need to get together next time you are down here so I can settle up.

Bubba gets more work done on his busses when he’s on vacation than in his shop 🙂
