Painted my first part! Put some L31 from a previous project on the heater log so I could weld it in, left over epoxy on the underside of the floor where the heat tube goes back in, it’s black cause it got epoxied last week with the pedals and e brake handle and stuff. All sealed up where you can’t spray now.volksaddictParticipantAugust 25, 2018 at 9:03 amPost count: 529volksaddictParticipantAugust 22, 2018 at 7:56 pmPost count: 529volksaddictParticipantAugust 22, 2018 at 7:52 pmPost count: 529volksaddictParticipantAugust 22, 2018 at 7:50 pmPost count: 529volksaddictParticipantAugust 21, 2018 at 9:47 amPost count: 529
Thanks Rusty! I appreciate the motivation I get from you guys.
Blasting came out pretty good, lots of pinholes to fix now but that’s the way it goes.
They call this dustless blasting, the glass media is mixed with water and a phosphate to blast with a slurry. Dustless my ass!! The dry wind turned that shit into dust soon it was sprayed, the mud piled up in the bottom making it hard for the guy to see that he missed the corners. I had to keep finding the missed spots and make him go back. Got pretty good coverage in the end tho.
Getting the media out of the bus is a lot bigger project than with dry – the shit cakes on like sand at the beach when it dries. Have to really wipe every surface down to get it off before you can blow it away. Your setup at KCW is way better for what we do, I think. But it sure was handy to have him come to me!
