I’m also sorry to hear of Gretchen’s situation.Yeah JJ …Corporate business, whatever country you live in,has taken much of the ‘personality’ out of our lives and how we serve our fellow humans.

What really frustrates me is the loss of common ‘dog fuck’ thinking, knowledge and wisdom that is lost ,for the sake of the bottom line …and shareholder’s pockets.

Oh ,and then there’s that stuff called empathy and compassion…..together with real, earned qualifications to do the job required.

My understanding of you two, is that you’re both very resourceful and resilient when facing a challenge.

Controlling one’s destiny is a liberating thing that many people strive to achieve.

Owning your own diary (time) is one of the keys to real freedom.

Thanks for keepin’ it real ,on here.

    DO WORK !!

Thanks Mark…yeah ,we had a pretty awesome time.

Leaving Perth October 1982 ,it took us 20 months to get to the U.S. after touring Australia,New Zealand ,Fiji and Hawaii.

Our plan was to work the winters doing restaurant management, waiting tables and bar work then travel the summers with our savings.

Returned to Perth December 1986 after one lap of planet Earth ,heading east.

Sorry for the hijack JJ….trust you’re fully enjoying the freedom of travelling with your best friend in a bus…oops …van,

    for a few weeks.

I’ll dig out some random pics and maybe start another Road Tripping thread.

It must be so satisfying to actually hold that in your hand , after all of the hard work to make it happen.

    AWESOME  JJ…

Your enthusiasm reminds me of our trip…Denver to New York…2 years

Arriving in June 1984,I bought this lowlight in Denver…seized motor, one owner…$500

Once I’d fixed it ..we headed to San Diego via the spectacular canyon country then up to Vancouver, Central Alberta, down thru the Rockies to Aspen for the ski season.

The next spring ,it was down thru the Southwest again ,across the south to Key West and up the coast to Washington DC. Flew out of NYC to Europe to continue our trip. Two summers and 2 winters ,exploring your wonder and beautiful country was such a blast.

In London ,we bought another camper and spent the summer around Europe…Norway to Morocco..to Greece ,Eastern Europe and back London .A couple of weeks in Egypt and back to Perth via Bangkok ..back to our own home. ‘Twas the best 50 months of freedom with my beautiful lady.

Still together and partying after 41 years !!

    Enjoy in large doses !!

Sorry about the quality of the image.I took a pic of an old 35mm shot.
