New location for DubSplash this year, and earlier in the year.  Should be a little cooler weather in April.  Dallas in July can be 100+ degrees!

No doubt… forever-memories.  I could go on & on. We blasted like 1400+ miles in 2 days??!!  Remember running through wide open New Mexico, all by ourselves, no other traffic, rolling 70-80 side-by-side for an ENTIRE tank of gas?  Unforgettable trip.  You, Zack, Me, and Carl 🙂

Mike… that’s a cool story!!  Glad my build gave you the nudge to turn it over to KCW.  They did me right.  I had been out of the scene for many years, and wanted to get back in.  They got me back in in a BIG way!

I haven’t been on the site in a while.  Wasn’t aware of your build…. gonna be nice!  I’m a big L31 fan, but Pearl Grey is a great choice, too.  Always cool to see another early DC getting built.  And you’ll be in Texas, too 🙂  I’m in Orange, TX… way down in the SE corner near the coast, so I’m at least 300+ miles South of you.  I do get up to the Dallas area often, though.

DubSplash is Apr 27-28 near Joe Pool Lake  in the Dallas area… you going?  I recently got a nice DOKA with a sweet GTI engine swap that I was planning to drive… but I could be persuaded to roll the DC 🙂

Well… It’s officially the 10-year anniversary for this badass build.  The first couple of pics are from a little roadtrip last weekend.  The last pic is from 2009.

She still back-pegs the speedo with ease!  The odometer hangs up from time to time, so I’m not sure on the exact number, but it’s somewhere way above 40,000 miles.  Same combo, same torquey 2387 Tractor motor.  Very few changes since I picked it up in April 2009, mainly because it doesn’t need any changes!

I’ve added a few cars to my collection over the years, but this one is still my favorite!

Anytime, John… It would be great to see you again.  I daydream sometimes about me and Carl driving her back up to KCW…. maybe next year for a 10-year build anniversary??  Hmmmm…….

    I’ll trade a couple of KCW stickers for a few of these… I’ll even do a 2 for 1 deal 🙂Scottys

…………. Its an early 59 built on Oct 22, 1958. It was delivered to San Fransisco, and it is actually a Single Cab that is m coded to be a double cab. I thought that was pretty cool.

That is super-EARLY…… that DC more than just “pretty cool”!!!
