in reply to: JJ’s Class 11 Oval #61954The Wilson book says the distributor shaft play should be .02″ to 0.05″ so your .025″ fits pretty well with that. I believe the two washers are there because one washer can spin with the drive gear and can wear the case. Even if one washer spins at reduced rpm two washers reduce this effect again. Ie, if one spins with the drive gear (even at reduced rpm) it spins against the second washer which spins at reduced rpm again? ….
