Sanded the hood with 80 grit yesterday.
    16D2DA79-7EDB-4C87-8DB5-BADF75EF883E
Then stripped the front of the deck lid and sanded the back of it with 80 grit before moving to 180 grit for a few spots. Forgot to take a picture of the deck lid! 🤦‍♂️

Stripped down the motor and transmission today. Trans to the center section and motor to the long block. First time I’ve messed with a transmission! Also the first time I’ve disassembled a motor by myself (although I did get a little bit of help).

Got to do some clean shop work today! Reading some manuals and Dad helping me throughout the day allowed me to get ‘er knocked out. Got the engine out then moved on to removing the transmission. That transmission was FILTHY too man.6F6AAE4D-D66A-494D-A7B8-D13489D4FF7014F14CAA-413F-4806-8F6E-FF68D80F708FFAEE42EF-146C-4EB7-9C82-63665CDDAAE1B015C695-108F-4B8E-B217-563AC1DE801B

After a week hiatus due to being sick, finally got back to work! Dad had me sand the fender wells before we got to undercoating. Dad sprayed the front drivers side fender but I sprayed the rest.

Hell yeah I’m still smiling! What an experience! Sitting in a race car is cool in itself but Blake’s car is COMPETITIVE. We got the hole shot and were leading until we blew a right rear. Even when that happened Blake was still runnin that car as hard as possible. We didn’t fall back quickly either. We fell back through the field slowly. Even when that happened I was still having an awesome time! It’s still not real to me that I had that opportunity to ride in that car. Like, I didn’t actually know I was gonna be sitting in the passenger seat until about 3 hrs before the race. I can’t even begin to express how happy and appreciative I was/am to have that opportunity.
