Not a great deal happening on this just yet, need to get a couple of cars finished and out of the workshop.

I was approached buy a couple of Magazines to provide a story of the search and recovery, pretty cool to have it in print……

    Volkswagen Magazine Australia

    And Survivor Car Australia

So what is the plan for next year? That looks like a good time.

    More of the same Franz!

I’m hoping we’ll have our Class 11 style KG finished, ’61 coupe with Country Buggy running gear (reduction box rear and hybrid Bug/Bus LP spindles up front)

5th – 8th June 2020 if you guys are keen for a down under experience 😉

I’m sure we can find a Baja or 2 for you guys to use!

I think it will be a Father, son & son project. My 14yr old is more excited than me about it!!

Some of the custom work……Frenched tail lights, Aerial, Number plate.
Smoothed engine lid, bonnet & dash, dechromed body.
Widened guards, extended and squared off front sheet metal.
And of course the oval window conversion.
    All in steel,
This was a huge project back in the day & considering its been out in the weather for 25 years it’s survived suprisingly well.

Great pics of W.A. …. [Wait Awhile] The white sandy beach looks like the one at the bottom of my street….and of course the beautiful Indian Ocean. I bet your dad’s had some interesting chats along the way about the Super Camper. I’m sure ,there’d be a few envious Grey Nomads out there just lovin’ it. Did he drop the HiAce body on the Hilux chassis ? How’s the V6 copping with the load ? Top way to see the country, and may they stay safe I do like the Google Maps time of 102 hours driving from Bendigo to Margaret River….via Darwin ……oh yeah ?? Thanks for sharing

Mum has said (numerous times) that Dad is spending ALOT of time talking to strangers about the camper haha

Yep the body is on a modified Hilux 4×4 chassis, no real dramas with the V6, seems to be travelling well.

For those interested, My folks have so far covered about 5500 miles, travelling along the western coastline stopping at some magic spots on the way…….

    Na Franz, 6×4.

Front 2 axles, are Hilux with detroit lockers, leaf spring, airbags on rear.

Rear axle is lazy with cantilevered leaf springs and air bags over the axle.
