volksaddict… down like four flat tires!!!!
in reply to: Pauls 60 Single cab #2714Is that drywall mesh tape?
Looks like 1/4″ wire mesh screen. (Really need the head-banging-against-wall emoji)
Yeah… My Dad found this SC in an Arkansas field. Any repair work has been done by his own hand… mine on occasion.
For that reason alone I would ask JJ to keep a chunk of the “pops repair” to hang up in the garage as a memento…Maybe dumb to some but I think that kind of stuff is cool.
Agree wholeheartedly… Old man memorized… I like it… a lot
in reply to: Pauls 60 Single cab #2713Well, WTF?… he’s 80. WTF indeed? I’m still in a bit of a quandary regarding color… All of the stock colors appeal to me, especially the green one. My Pop’s, on the other hand, abhors green. What’s a man to do? I am a fan of the Sealing Wax, but I also am quite enamored of the green velvety. I ask again, what’s a man to do?
in reply to: Pauls 60 Single cab #2710Hey man, it is what is it is!
You’re the man JJ. I’m for whatever you recommend… some limits apply, but not $$ related…

Hey Pete,
Would you please share with me the requisite steps necessary to insert a text from another participant i.e., “is that drywall mesh tape”?
Thanks,
Paul

in reply to: Pauls 60 Single cab #2610Incredible amount of work… incredible amount of rot! Thanks for taking the time to post pics.
What are/were those square holes above the left rear wheel well?
I think it looks kind of proud sitting up on the jack stands… all that rusty crap cut off.

in reply to: Pauls 60 Single cab #2543I know you’ve heard it a million times, but… your shop cam is fucking awesome!! I’m sitting here doing the Charlie Brown happy dance! Huge grins seeing Dad’s SC alongside the convertible… and in the shop!! Outstanding!
Juan quoted me $2900 for the set, KF814, shipping included. Straight off their website. Those gates look like doo-doo and after surfing a bit, sounds like a fair deal. I’m looking for ideas to repurpose the OGs.
I’m a lucky man on account of this bus being at KCW.
Thanks for getting it going.

in reply to: Pauls 60 Single cab #2533I figured those gates were pretty rough under all that bondo. Dad liked him some bondo. I seem to remember using a fiberglass infused bondo-like glob too. Think it was called “Tiger Hair”, but I digress. Anyhow, got on the phone with KlassicFab. Fella there told me four weeks for the set.
in reply to: Pauls 60 Single cab #2475No doubt. I’ll be interested myself to see what the “abrasive cleaning” uncovered.
in reply to: Ben"s Legal Eagle XL #2327I think the 140 qualifies, but not the venerable 150. That’d be cool if it did… Cooler still to do what you’re doing and build/fly/maintain your own. Giving the FAA the finger would be a great start to any day.
in reply to: Pauls 60 Single cab #2221Outstanding!! Lots of Bondo dust I’m sure. First time the little truck has been, “rust free and proud”.
