Wiring had a couple of worn connectors and cracks that needed attention. The extra wires for the gauges it has were sloppy. Rerouted and cleaned those up also. 

Much better then before. 

Dropped the oil out. All of the sump studs came out. Lock-tited them back in before the sump plate went on.

Back together as much as it can be until parts arrive for carbs.

Pulled the motor to rework fuel lines yesterday. Found a few other items to address.

Oil cooler tin was duct taped and missing the foam seals. Fresh foam in place.

Replaced the janked throttle cable tube and worn out bowden tube. 

New breather box lines and fuel lines in. 

Stuffed it back in after checking it over and cleaning it up some. Engine bay wiring as next.

Got as far as I could yesterday on the ragtop install. Could not get it to close all the way. JJ just pointed out the holes for the tension bar are not factory and may need some more grinding. 

Front & rear windows wrapped in new rubber & trim. Ready for install.

Made good progress today. I was able to get all of the padding in. Around the back window wrapped, and the passenger side 90% wrapped. More tomorrow.

Few pics from over the weekend. Mudflap bracket fab and template. 

Franz painted brackets yesterday. Cole cut flaps from old beetle floor mats. Installed this morning. 

Blazecut fire suppression just in case.
