    Sounds like a great day!

3 1/2 days until I get to drive this sweet ride to Roosters.  I’m bringing with me my battery, 4 bench seat sections, and my license plate.

The patient is walking again!!!  It’s good to see the DC back in the open air sitting on it’s own tires.

Franz…To your point, I think the hubcaps look decent.  Unfortunately, decent isn’t enough.  I think the hubcaps will look better painted to match the truck (perl grau) with the emblem matching the emblem, bumpers, and wheels (white).

Lovin’ it!  Folks around me are either excited or tired of hearing about this rig. Saturday can’t get here fast enough.

John…the VIN plate package is with FedEx.  They claim it will be there tomorrow by 10:30am.  I soaked it in rust remover last night, because it had some light rust between when I cleaned it up last time (months ago) and last night.  Is there anything that can be put on it so it doesn’t just fester back behind the engine?

Looks great!  It’s pretty ironic that you are wearing your Patina hat while adding the shine to the Double.

Looks and sounds amazing!  Look at the attention to detail!  We’d never once talked about wrapping the heater tubes and I just assumed that they’d go naked.  Not with KCW on the case.  Heater tubes are properly wrapped.  Saaaaweet!

Good news!  Can’t wait to hear it. It’s getting close.

You guys still good for the end of the month?  I’m planning to be in GJ midday on Saturday the 29th.

Looks like Pat’s still interested in cylinder 1.  Found any thing?

Painter’s has the user do the break-in and first start. They don’t pre-run.

Got it. Thank goodness I got the best sorting it out.

So excited.  Brakes are looking money!  The DC is literally getting closer to landing on the ground.

Bummer about having the motor half torn down.  Does Painter’s run their long blocks on a stand before shipping it out? I’m assuming they didn’t hear anything when it left. I know you guys will chase away the gremlins!

Crap!  Thanks for the updates.  Pat, you’re right, better to happen in GJ than TX.  I’m glad you both are working the issue.  As you’ve heard me say, reliability is my number one concern.  Keep me updated on the progress.

I don’t know why VW had different design for the Brazilian steering boxes.  Driving with that steering box was super stechy.  Maybe there are other changes to Brazilian buses that compensate for the steer box.  I’m glad to have it back to a German part.  The truck is looking immaculate!
