Monday… It’s full steam ahead on this…. I hope the blasting is done.. I haven’t looked. But Chris is of the know, that if it is not ready monday morning… He should stay home…. I’ll do it myself….
Nice! It’s been fun watching Juan’s Ghia get purdied up, but it’ll be great to see metal getting added and sparks flying on my truck. 😎mdubgParticipantDecember 8, 2018 at 1:08 pmPost count: 294mdubgParticipantDecember 8, 2018 at 6:53 amPost count: 294mdubgParticipantDecember 7, 2018 at 5:06 pmPost count: 294mdubgParticipantDecember 5, 2018 at 8:25 pmPost count: 294mdubgParticipantDecember 4, 2018 at 7:20 pmPost count: 294mdubgParticipantDecember 3, 2018 at 9:09 pmPost count: 294
I took a couple of boxes to UPS today to send your direction. One has the Wagens West “Really Good” Wide Five Disc Brake Kit and dual master in it. Careful that box is heavier than it looks. The second has a bunch of labeled parts that I was originally going to put back on myself, so I didn’t put them in that rubbermaid bin when I dropped the truck off. Inside the box, there is a pack list, so nothing hides out in the packing material.
I still gotta send the gas tank (it’s new) and the speedo.
I also need to sort out palleting my motor and sending it your way.mdubgParticipantDecember 2, 2018 at 8:45 amPost count: 294mdubgParticipantNovember 27, 2018 at 6:39 pmPost count: 294mdubgParticipantNovember 22, 2018 at 9:11 amPost count: 294mdubgParticipantNovember 20, 2018 at 5:19 pmPost count: 294mdubgParticipantNovember 20, 2018 at 10:07 amPost count: 294
Amazing delivery timing!
<p style=”text-align: left;”>It’s been a couple weeks and I’m still trying to get around to sending my engine to GJ. I’m in LBC this week, but I’ll get it sorted when I’m back in Texas next week.</p>
With the speed you all are moving, I’m going to have to get off my ass and send the rest of the labeled parts from my disassembly soon.
Thanks for the updates!mdubgParticipantNovember 16, 2018 at 8:59 amPost count: 294mdubgParticipantNovember 15, 2018 at 11:29 amPost count: 294
Build up has already begun! You guys are a machine. Killing it!
The bus came with a funky, custom, low profile canvas cover. It could have trapped leaves for sure. It also had a fabric sound deadening in the cabin that looked like it trapped a bit of condensation.
Keep up the amazing work and updates!mdubgParticipantNovember 13, 2018 at 7:12 pmPost count: 294mdubgParticipantNovember 12, 2018 at 3:49 pmPost count: 294
At first, I was excited. The last couple days, I’ve been afraid to look at the site. Each hour the pile of German steel has grown, as have the openings in the side of my truck, as has the list for Columbian steel. I’m glad the cutting is nearing an end.
The condition of that d-piller explains a ton. The amount of filler back there, the ill-fitting engine hatch, and the unusable, pop riveted hatch-stay, to name a few.
I’m afraid to ask…Is the driver’s corner good? We know it’s off a later model, due the crappy, patched-up, larger tail light opening. Just want to make sure the corner profile is correct and matches what Gerson will send for the passenger side.
This is truck is going to be the newest 60-year-old German truck anyone has ever seen! I’m excited to see the rebuild.
Thanks for spending a good part of your day in that crawl space under the seat. When I cleaned it out previously, I spent a couple days in there…it’s not fun.mdubgParticipantNovember 12, 2018 at 7:32 amPost count: 294
