Oh damn!  It looks so good!  Dash looks like a mirror.

Besides the new metal, was the bed that straight or did y’all have to work it.  It’s beyond expectations from these pictures.

For me, the last couple days have been, do some work, hit refresh on the KCW websites, do less work, hit refresh on the KCW website, rinse and repeat.

Thanks for the KCW attention to detail, especially with the dash and bed.  The dash is something I’m going to stare at everytime I drive and the bed is something others look at, because it make VW trucks unique.  It’s gonna be amazing!

Looks so good!  When I first got the CrewCab I was in there removing tar and spraying rattle can, it’s not fun and makes everything hurt (eyes, nose, throat, back, head, etc).  Thanks!

I’m super excited to have a bus that will have an engine compartment that I don’t have to hide.  This Double is going to look amazing!

Good luck in the treasure chest today.  I know that area sucks, especially with a bad back.

I can tell you from corporate experience, they definitely don’t mean unlimited paid time off.  It’s an accounting trick that keeps paid vacation liabilities off their books.  The second your manager thinks you aren’t producing the same (or more) than you would if you were in the office, she’ll give you plenty of time to go camping on your permanent vacation.  Sorry to harsh your buzz.  Congratulations on the job!

Man that looks so good.  I can’t believe that is the underside.  When I learned to drive, my old man always said keep the shiny side up, I’m not sure what he’s gonna say to this.

That color is going to look amazing!  It’s exactly what I was thinking.  Great work!

I’m getting your emails, it’s the attachment that isn’t there.  Send me the bottom line number in the email, so I can get the check in the mail, while you monkey around with gmail 😉

Ah yeah!  Paint’s gonna fly!  How’d the color look when it was mixed?

Damn!  I blink and you guys are done.  Excellent work!

Yeah the color is L21.  I’d like to use a color that either is, or is very close to the original VW palette.  I just don’t have anything to compare it to.  If you, or the paint company, can find the formula that would be great!  Then spray-out’s may not be necessary.  I’m not looking to invent a color.  If the formula isn’t available, I just want to confirm what we are going with.  Hope that helps to explain.

    Amazing!  Paint next week?!?

Unfortunately, I don’t have a VW vehicle or part in L21 to compare to.  I found what is supposed to be the formula on the interwebs (posted on page 14 of this thread).  Also, WW has it listed in their color charts for 1960 Micros (https://www.wolfsburgwest.com/colors/bus61.htm), but no formula.

There are some modern vehicles that have a color that looks about right.  Audi has a color called Nardo Grey and my 2018 Toyota Tundra has a color called cement that looks right.  I’m sure in the color world, these greys are probably worlds apart, but they look good.  They have a more “true” grey and not a brown grey like Mouse Grey or tan grey like L345.

Other than having a physical comparison, you all have any other ideas?  At the end of the day, we may have to wing it.  A while back, Pat mentioned that he might have a couple spray outs from the paint shop.
