Thanks y’all. Yep they’re all programmed out and reproducible. They should polish up pretty easily. It’s been a crazy project, but i think they’re gonna turn out awesome.
The only sad part is that it costs so much more to make your own wheels than it does to just go buy some. Oh well lol.Matt FaulknerParticipantJuly 7, 2019 at 9:11 pmPost count: 48
Cool, I wanted to show off some wheels, and I just happened to see this thread! I made these this weekend. Had some machine access, and I thought it would be fun. Identical 3d scanned spokes from a deep 6 15 incher. Then I expanded it to a 16 inch 3 piece version. I’ll do 5.5 wide on the front and 6.5 on the rear of my Beetle project. Still waiting on rim halves and center caps, so I’ve got time to polish and detail. More to come!Matt FaulknerParticipantAugust 28, 2018 at 9:01 amPost count: 48
I get them used on eBay. Here’s some…
I attempted to make a video too. I’d like to document the polishing process too, but I haven’t filmed that yet.Matt FaulknerParticipantAugust 27, 2018 at 9:43 pmPost count: 48
Looks awesome Scott! What are the tire sizes and how narrowed is the beam?
Thank you Matt! Those are 145/65s on the front and the beam is a 4 incher with shocks. The rear tires are 205/60s. This is still one of my favorite cars to drive.
Thanks Scott! I got a set of cip1.com Cosmics I’ve been detailing up for something. Just need a car now!Matt FaulknerParticipantAugust 26, 2018 at 9:07 pmPost count: 48Matt FaulknerParticipantMay 4, 2018 at 1:30 pmPost count: 48Matt FaulknerParticipantMay 1, 2018 at 1:30 pmPost count: 48Matt FaulknerParticipantApril 27, 2018 at 9:18 amPost count: 48Matt FaulknerParticipantApril 23, 2018 at 4:12 pmPost count: 48
