Replaced the clutch in the ragtop finally.

Found the main seal and the oil cooler leaking And just about everything else.

Looking much better, still a few leaks from the cylinders but didn’t want to open that can of worms yet.

Still running well.

Been driving the bug daily for the last 3 years now, clutch has started needing alot of adjusting, I bought a new one at the end of last year and of course after that it’s been fine. Then not so fine, then really bad. So on Friday I went out to the vw parts shop to get a couple last things before I pull the engine and on the way over to see a mate, bong! The unmistakable sound of a vw cutch cable snapping.

How can you be mad at such a pretty thing??

I imagine there’s plenty of places like this in the states, but I’ve never seen anything like it. Same family have run for decades.

Looks like a great trip JJ.

Well, summer is finally here in the south pacific, so you know, it’s started raining.

Took the bug for a drive up a volcano yesterday, so that was nice.

Have been getting back into working on this thing, I got ran over at a pedestrian crossing about 6 months ago, Uber eats driver on his fucking phone, luckily he wasn’t going to fast and I only smashed up my leg and ankle, could have been a lot worse!

Welded up a new muffler the other weekend, sounds so good now!

Installed another set of castor shims his week, completely changed the cars road manners, so much nicer.

I bought this sub about 20 years ago, 12inch JBL. Boom.

You don’t get oil all over the bottom over the bottom of the engine? Any pics from the valve cover side? Do the tractors rev over 4500rpm though?
