in reply to: Cleaning heat risers #7923Too much fuel or choke would cause it cold too.
in reply to: Cleaning heat risers #7922Stock mufflers are all pretty much the same. You shouldn’t be icing up like that. You can check to verify that the left heat riser tubes is plumbed into the exhaust tip so that its sucking air through the heat riser.
in reply to: KCW randomness #7921Anyday anytime. I can change those bearings while you wait.
in reply to: all things JJJās #7920Don’t tub it.
Why you want to do all that hard work, then ruin it? Mini tubs are pointless unless you’re running 7″ wide 18″ wheels or something silly.
If you have the right narrowed beam,Ā and regular tires(195 or less), they should tuck into the sweet spot just right.
….Keep it as high as you can go with the strait axle. Like Parker’s dove blue 21 window. The suspension arm angle needs to be strait or positive so that the wheel moves back when the suspension compresses.Ā šĀ Key to an enjoyable bus.
When the arm angle is negative the wheel moves forward when the suspension is compressed. Amplifying every little thing in the road. They drive terrible that low. Like this “wham wham wham squeek squeek wham wham SCRAPE”Ā And the driver is like “I’m so f’n cool” “good thing I have disc brakes” šĀ šĀ š
in reply to: KCW randomness #7918Hell yeah. The canvas looks great. Doug killed it. What is the plan for pickup? I need to slam some wheel bearing on the front before you take it. Should only take an hour or so.
I noticed they were humming when I drove it to Doug’s shop.

in reply to: JJ's projects #7861Its cool that you can see they designed it to be serviceable. When the joint wears out simple screw in a new glenosphere and polyethylene insert.
I’m with Ben, It looks like a CV joint. We have a few of those laying around out back….
Thats probably like a $15k part or more?!?
I should get into the making parts for humans.Ā š Seems like a better profit margin than car parts.

I made a coolant crossover pipe today. 1″ X .065″ steel. I hope its large enough. Boxeer looked to be using 1″ aluminum. Welded and ground beads on the ends to retain hose.
