    Which has me thinking about tires. We usually run 215/75/15 BFG all terrains. NOT like the super aggressive mud terrains that JJ has. Much more highway friendly tire.

    Is that OK with you?

    Pat is prepping engine tin for paint. I think we can fully assemble this machine in a week if we plan it right.

    I made a centrifugal air filter housing today. Jazzed on it. I need to put some deflector fins and dirt drains in…but I think its going to work.

    The mango was the wrong color again. AAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

    After that I mixed up my own paint. I think I nailed it. The long side looks way better. Pat got the wheels mounted and bumpers assembled too.

    I fully welded those tabs on. Another piece done. The panel bond trick worked great. I think JB weld quick would have dried faster and done the same thing though.

    I’m onto the air filter mounting and fitment today. Its jammed into the corner where it’ll get plenty of clean cool air from the scoop/vent behind the window.

    Yeah, those are they guys that we’re going to beat. šŸ˜† Project Baja from Co Springs? They got VW to sponsor them. Pretty cool. Painter’s does their mechanicals too.

    Got a better matched can of mango paint yesterday. I couldn’t live with the crappy tail light blends…so I’m re-doing those too. Almost ready to spray.

    Finalized thermostat housing/connection. I used panel bond to temporarily attach the mounting tabs. I will be able to tack weld them perfectly, then remove the glue and finish welding.
