It does look like there’s a main seal leak on the transaxle or engine.
May not be bad enough to mess with.

in reply to: Slammed early 64 beetle $5000 #39015I give up…nobody want this? Giving it away for $5k
in reply to: Parkway projects #39013Maybe we should just rebuild the engine…you did overheat it. I bet the rings have lost tension.
in reply to: Parkway projects #39011Pat says it’s all messed up. And is taking everything apart. Trans needs to go to painters. Main seal is leaking, push rod tubes are leaking. Going to tear the engine down for re-seal too. Sounds like about a $5k repair this time.

3.25” narrowed beam, flipped spindles, wagerns west 944 disc kit, 5.5 space savers. 185/60 and 195/65 tires.
Ride is like stock. Narrowness is perfect for clearance. Fat tires are good. My favorite combo for true driver lowered bus.

Yep! That project car has my name on all over it.
Anybody coming this way from Denver? I’d pay a couple hundred for a transport job.

I’m on the beam, and Tom is on the engine.

Not sure how much of my time they’re going to waste before they figure out I don’t have any respect for their laws.
See you guys later today at some point for sure.
