Perfect.
I started yesterday with changing the ignition switch. Then put a few decals on, battery cover and strap installed, painted hinge covers, windlace holders, and vent knobs.
Is the regulator decal correct? Where should these go?
in reply to: 1964 Sportsmobile #438993 Batman LEGO kits, 1 bottle of Malibu rum, and $1750?
in reply to: Russ’ Java Green 64 #43898Yep! That is what I was afraid of. Once you break all the bolts and nut plates you cannot put it back together until it’s fixed.
Cool $500 car you have there. 😁
I was serious about doing some work. We have space for dirty shop rust and/or paint project right now. But man, fixing all that stuff is going to be expensive.
in reply to: Juan’s 59 Lowlight #43897Alright! Let’s finish this.
in reply to: Sailing Bridges ‘52 single cab #43889Is that this truck? Late mirror, black bumper, painted hubcaps?
in reply to: JJ’s 58 Single Cab! #43887Rusty please finish the split window beetle out back before starting more dumb stuff. Focus son! Do you want to buy the buggy engine that Will left under my bench??? It needs to find a new home. Stuff is in our way.
Will has like 15 cars here that he can’t sell. Its silly.
in reply to: Finding disappointing Bugs and Buses #43885That bus is dead. Let it rest.
The vert looks promising though…
in reply to: Motorcycle racket #43883Yeah, that was ridiculously fun. I think we all ran into the fence at least one time.
Let me know if you need help fixing stuff or raking gravel. 🙂
in reply to: Sailing Bridges ‘52 single cab #43832Beetle hood seals worked on the door frame tops. We need to figure out vent wing seals, I tried cargo door seals and they were too fat.
in reply to: Sailing Bridges ‘52 single cab #43831Been waiting weeks to put the final touches on.
in reply to: Sailing Bridges ‘52 single cab #43826Made a fuel tap extension, and painted letters this morning.
in reply to: Sailing Bridges ‘52 single cab #43820Proper drive yesterday evening. Got through all the gears. Shes a ripper! I’m stoked on how it drives, stops, and steers.
Seems like the front suspension is sagging a bit. Maybe has a broken spring?..hard to imagine, it looks like it was just rebuilt. I could disassemble and flip the springs if the ride height bothers you.
Installed generator vent strap, and JB welded an original fuel pump top to the pierburg unit.
Dome light wire clips. Original BD single cab on the right. Beetle felt channel clip on the left worked.
Doing some research on door seals and fuel tap extension this morning. Noticed that the hole is marked with reserve auf and zu.
in reply to: Fucking Bubba!!!! #43819Damn! Big nut boxes are pain in the ass to work on. You probably will have to take the whole axle tube off to get at the freeze plug and nut that retain the stub axle.
Sometimes we weld a bolt or chain to the plug to pull it with a slide hammer, sometime we hammer a chisel through and destroy it. Have fun! 🙂
in reply to: KCW randomness #43818Thats impressive! I assume Ice is much harder to work with than snow.
