I had an idea yesterday. 💡 since your in the bartering mood….

I’ll fix your baywindow up real nice make it run and drive perfect.

….all you have to do is give up the 52 split. I’ll even buy all the parts your baywindow needs????

Just think about how awesome it’s going to be re-living your high school days…I can even paint it purple(with house paint, no rust repair) and mount the bong between the front seats for you. 😀

Feels good to be final welding on this after all the prep and planning. Good day yesterday. More today.

MIG welding one inch at a time to keep the steel from getting too hot and brittle.

Alright! Stoked to be back on it. Gonna work on this until it drives.

Finishing A pilar lower cage attachment points. I think overlapping tubes count as gusseted main intersection? MIG welding in that hole is tough.. so not the prettiest welds. But good hot strong ones.

A good bus is hard to get. If you sell it, you’ll be right back at the same spot with another project.. Because that is what you want.

I always feel like “I’m not going to do this again” at project mid point. When I’ve put everything into something and still have so much more to go. Be tough, focus, and set small goals. You’ll get there.

John painted the whole thing today….One coat of paint, 3 cups of paint total.

    That’s crazy talk!

Maybe just scale it back a bit… get it driving. Then do all custom projects later on the weekend when you feel like it.

I’m sure we could find some time to prep and paint if you can make it out here for a weekend.

Make sure the helmets are SFI, FIA or Snell approved. You have to have a fire sock too. Either on your head or around the helmet.imageimage

    Thanks Buddy.

What else would you like done on this machine? We’re still waiting for the stainless exhaust, and cargo door mechs….thats about all that I can think of…Oh, and a middle seat kick panel.

3 months from disassembly to finished driver. Beat that!

Doug installed the bulkhead panel with original trim. Pat and I detailed the whole thing. We went for a drive, it was late, Audrey got some video. The stance is perfect. The mechanical is perfect, the interior is perfect. Call her done. I’m going to get pictures @ sunrise tomorrow.

I don’t have any preference on safari seals. These WW original style fit nice, but do require thorough cleaning and glue to stay in place.

The roof is good. Some texture left, we didn’t want to remove any more material than needed.

Some of the nicest patina sun fade ever.

Detail job and good stance pictures tomorrow.
