Lenny has retired. He sold the website and phone number to Morrie who is located in Oregon. I have been to their shop and like Morrie. Lenny’s crew did not make the move.

Clara and I have been making microbus panel sets for years. She does not advertise much. The two of us are always busy. Occasionally I post on Instagram.

If the owner wants a quote for the part we make or to place an order encourage him to email me at campingbox@yahoo.com – message me through Instagram (westfalia_campingbox) or give me a call (phone number is listed on any of my samba ads). If he wants to avoid holding you up I’d suggest he reach out today. I make this stuff to order. I can put him in touch with Deutsch Polster regarding the covers. Corey often stocks the covers.

Since you are fairly familiar with the WCCR products and the TMI (WW) products I know you will be happy with our quality and with the Deutsch Polster covers. We are both a little more expensive than the other options but the quality is there.

Shameless self promotion, but I’d like to think you could do no better than a set of  Clara’s panels. Partial set pictured above.

Deutsch Polster would be a good consideration for the seat covers, especially if you want sewn pleats. They also do a spare tire cover, headliner kit, and sunroof cover.

Barndoor Kombis originally had the cab door panels and underdash kick panels, which we offer, nothing else.

I tried to order a set of those panels. Emailed a number of times and never heard back. I bet Doug could make them.

Clara can be reached at claralw@aol.com or through any of her ads on thesamba. If you emailed her about a product she doesn’t currently offer that might be a reason she didn’t follow up with you. We recently moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and are working towards getting caught up. Feel free to try again. You can also email me at campingbox@yahoo.com

We do not currently offer a barndoor uberkombi kit. We did start one, and we do have the lower perimeter, bulkhead, and above rear engine panels 98% finished. This includes the rear deck panel with the metal rails. If someone with a barndoor Kombi wants to schedule to bring me a bus to have the patterns finalized and hire me to install the set that could be discussed.

We have not started a barndoor headliner set. I believe our 55-63 set will work from the bulkhead back. I would be happy to work with a customer to develop patterns to fit the front. I would also like to modify our rear patterns to more closely follow the barndoor technical bulletins we have.

We always want to have a finished install under our belt before offering any of our products available by mail order.

Does it have holes in the drivers side wheel well for the So-42 bed bracket? How about holes in the firewall for the so-42 bed support?

Neat bus. Green & white tents are super rare.

I think some of the Euro buses had early tent mounts past 1965. I’d date that tent earlier though, because of the dark brown leather straps. A tent made in ’67ish would have light grey leather I think.

I think someone added the jalousies, those would have been unusual for a no port code westy.

I think someone added the rear headliner hinge cover. That would have come from a 64-65 flipseat, or maybe an so-44 optioned without the rear cabinet.

That interior has the ’61-’62 cabinet knobs.

I think there are layers of camper parts there. I bet someone lived close to a junkyard and was grabbing the parts he liked in the early ’70’ies, or maybe he had a 61-62 flipseat which he really liked but it got wrecked and he moved the interior into a new body.

Cool bus, I’m not putting it down, just don’t think it left westfalia like that.

You could look for scratches in the door jambs to see if it had an so-42 interior clamped in place. There would be scratches on the right side of the rear hatch jamb and scratches on the rear cargo door pillar.

Were those even the right parts?

The photo Kevin posted from HO had 55-63 front cylinders pictured in them. Rears you can use oval fronts, which are still available, two bolt instead of four but they work.  Fronts I think have to be sourced old stock, or originals cleaned up and sleeved. I’m pretty sure Kevin didn’t have fronts in his photo, but I could be mistaken. Sorry I didn’t point it out earlier, just figured someone else would notice and it would sort itself out on its own.

Is there no way to quote?

Greg…. Hope you and Clara can make it to the Utah show to look this baby over with us!!!!!!!

The Utah Classic is scheduled the same weekend as the Yakima, Wa. show which we always look forward to. I am looking forward to seeing the bus – when’s it coming to Washington and how is it getting here? Do you want me to come pick it up or arrange shipping?

I dunno if My Camping Box is on the new website… but I will see if he is lurking…   Greg, you gonna send us a front seat cover?  Or should we leave all that seat rust repair for you….

Wow, those are big smiley faces. I guess I should try to figure out how to quote properly on this new forum. I don’t see a button for it.

I’ve asked Matt again about a front seat cover.

Do you want me to send you front kick panels and cab door panels so you can finish off the cab?

Clara wants to wait until the bus is here to make the rest of the rear interior.
