Loaded the picture twice. Sorry. Anyway frame all tacked up. I got in it. Sitting on the ground, I have about 3” to 4” between my head and the top bar. That should be alright for clearance of the control stick under my ass. ?

…..After a few months I was offered a part time job, a couple months after that full time. My last day in corporate hell was 4/20/2016. THAT was a great day to end a corporate job on.
Don’t you mean ’14. You were working there when I was up there working with HSS.

How’s the plane coming along?
Not much to report this week. Spent most of Saturday with “honey dues”. Did manage to put in a few more braces though. I’ve got eleven more braces to fit, and the main fuselage will be ready to weld. Then I can start on the wing, and landing gear mounts. Build the control stick, seat, cable guides, and the list goes on and on. 😉

One day back at work… My body hurts more than it did the last 10 days… I think it’s the being on my feet all day… Green house.. No thanks.. Sounds like something else to maintain and take care of.. I got that taste of freedom again…. it was good….. and I really want it..
My doc wants me exercising 30 minutes a day. So I have to do it first thing in the morning, because I’m either wasted or to lazy after work. I feel like a dump truck has run me over most days, but I feel a little better/stronger as I go.
Green house, I’m with you on that. My wife wants one. I’m not to enthused with the idea. I can get all the fresh veggies I want a mile from my house, and if shit hits the fan, I’m bugging out to the hills . 😀

I went to a great home thats going to be able to take a lot better care of it than I will when I graduate and move out! I traded it for the syncro I’ve been detailing here to a long time friend who got me into split busses in the first place and helped make my first 15 window project possible. He lives in Denver but is in the process of moving the Oval and a few other cars to Milwaukee, so it’ll be closer to you! I thought it would be smart to find a new home for it as I starting to worry about post-grad plans and where I could store it and keep it in good shape. I used it as a daily all spring, summer, and fall until the weather started to get worse. All these guys who gave me shit at the beginning, were right (annoyingly), its too nice for me! I felt bad using it to run to the store or to drive to campus on a nice day, it was at risk around college kids who don’t value it as much as we do. I’ve got some beat up truck now that works better for my situation and I don’t feel as guilty about leaving outside. The new owner of your beautiful Oval couldn’t be any happier and I know he wants to get in touch with you to cruise your two KCW builds together! Long reply as I’m still trying to justify why I got rid of the nicest car I’ll own for a very long time.
Some good reasoning Willy. I made some similar choices when I joined the Air Force. Couldn’t expect my dad to store my shit for an indefinite time. I used all the money gained to pay off some shop carried debts. Back in the day before a tool truck would carry your credit for purchases, the shop would carry the load as long as you made payment every pay day. Sold a nice VW bus, and a few motorcycles then, that I wished I still had. I did manage to keep all my tools. I’d be lost without them.

You just haven’t tasted the “cool aid” yet John. My bus is so dialed in, the last thing I can recall checking before BBB, was my tire pressure!
You know what it’s about for me…. I’m not going there…. I only build what I drive and I drive what I build and there is no room for subi’s in my life!!!
I knew you answer before I posted a response John. Just giving you a little ribbing. 🙂
If I get this other bus, I’ve got a sweet little 1641cc builder for it with 100% new or serviceable used OG parts. No more big air cooled for me.
