Just watched this this morning. Pretty cool. Those little Honda’s are amazing. Years ago, when I was a Honda mechanic in Ely, NV, I re-laced a rear rim for a guy riding an S90 Honda. He had just hit the west coast after riding Australia for six weeks. Was headed for New York, Then south to Florida, and back west along the southern boarder. He was about 5’6″, and as round as he was tall, Packing enough gear for safari. I talked him into some lower gearing when he told me he couldn’t pull a headwind in high gear. Always wondered if he completed his adventure. Another time, I had two German dudes, who came to the states and purchased two XL250’s. They cris-crossed the US three times, and were going to sell the bikes in California for airfare back to Germany. Lots of adventures to be had on a motorcycle.

It’s not going anywhere. I kicked myself for not buying Ben’s truck when the opportunity was offered. Took me years to find a prebutchered single cab. Who knew what a gigantic pile it was once blasted. Pat, Riley and you have beat it into shape. Going to one unique ride
Kick myself almost everyday for selling it. Didn’t need to, just wanted some quick cash to get the DD started.

Not without notice as i work in healthcare and have for the past decade. It is very hard on staff as well without visitors, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Even before the past 18 months the staff take the brunt of the emotion hope with us if the patient has no visitors. Healthcare workers are human and believe me we do not enjoy the lack of visitors for patients either.
Agreed! Have a number of friends in health care, and they are exhausted. Physically, mentally, and emotionally.

This will probably get passed over without much attention, but it really hit a cord with me, as I just lost a friend. Diagnosed Monday, died yesterday of a rare and aggressive lung cancer. This is Jim Breuer on a Joe Rogan podcast talking about COVID.

About a month ago, a R/C club member gave me a crashed Piper Cub. I deemed it repairable, and as I needed to rebuild most of the cockpit, I decided to modified it to the military L4 version. This version has lots of windows so the pilot could see 360, and above easily. The L4 was used by US and allies alike as spotter platforms, liaison, and currier type missions. One pilot even mounted bazookas to the wing struts and had two German tank kills. Anyway, here are some progress pictures. Most were done up in OD Green with invasion stripes, but I decide to go with a National Guard silver scheme.
Starting the cabin mods.
All of the structure repair, and mods added.
Aluminum panels and rivet detail on forward fuselage.
Top of cabin complete.
This is close to what I’m going for.

Me and Scott got in my Shorty SC. We couldn’t back out of JJ’s driveway in the gravel. 🙂 Then we left a 12′ center pin divet in the blacktop when we hit a dip in the road. 🙂 It was hilarious! Might be a picture floating around the archives.

Pretty Awesome Ben!!! Please bring one to BBB this year!!!!! Please!!!
I’ll have to call Ronnie and see if I can fly from the beach during BBB. Also, next month, there is the annual Lake Havasu Float Fly. I’ll have to check the exact date, but thinks it’s the Second weekend, right before Thanksgiving.

Make sure Audrey fills the trans with GL3 rated hypoid. It’s a little hard to find, but NAPA carries it. Most of the hypoids in Checker, Auto Zone, and other stores are GL4, which don’t have the Sulfer additives that VW trans need. I made that mistake, and it cost me a trailer ride home and a premeture transmission rebuild.
