I think I saw that advertised – looks good for the money. Can’t wait to see the progress
in reply to: Tabeguache Trailblazers #11523Baja working party next weekend?!?
in reply to: Tabeguache Trailblazers #11522Maybe replicate the VW beam strengtheners too? Fixed for Moab?
in reply to: Bob’s 65′ camper #11521Ok Cool. What’s the low end torque like with that setup? I like single port motors – best one I ever had was a SP 2110.
in reply to: Patina Volkswagens Book #11485Thanks Simon. Good to see you too. Jack loves being out in a Beetle, always has. It’s one of the only ways I can engage him these days, but whatever works!! We never made it to Stansted – a cut through on the Selsey Road was all it took, call of the beach too strong.
I couldn’t sleep last night thinking about the trip ?
in reply to: Kelly’s forever barndoor project #11484That looks Like a great useable stance.
in reply to: Bob’s 65′ camper #11483That combo sounds great. What’s the specs on a 1914 baby tractor?
in reply to: Tabeguache Trailblazers #11482Wow, that must have knocked your fillings out!!
in reply to: Patina Volkswagens Book #11458Ohhhh man!!! Thank you thank you thank you JJ!! I love 68 bay windows and have owned a few 🙂 So great you’ve got our backs and the bed idea sounds amazing.
This is gonna be so awesome and soooo much appreciated!
We’ve been looking and planning some – I’m trying to adjust Jo’s expectations of organising EVERYTHING before we go – she works in the travel industry and I call her my HOP (Highly organised person).
It’ll be so awesome to have our freedom to explore – I think we’ll take in some Colorado sights, then head to Moab a couple days early to hit the national parks..?! Hot springs are definitely on the cards too if we get time.
Spent all weekend planning and doing last minute shopping etc – still can’t really believe I’ll be there in five days!!
in reply to: Patina Volkswagens Book #11421Can’t wait!!! We are arriving at KCW afternoon of Friday 20th all being well :))
in reply to: 67 Euro 1500 Bug – New Project #11332Been a crazy few weeks but I’ve made a lot of progress.
Decided to go to town on the tinware:
Got the engine back in, then had to pull it again as it had been put together with an old clutch that was slipping badly.
Then I straightened the front bumper out and restored both license plates with new aluminium backing plates.
After backing it into a post and repairing the wing/fender, I got it inspected then taped off and polished half the car with Meguiars products so it could be displayed at the Volksworld show.
It’s now on daily driver status. Lots more stuff to do, but I’m enjoying driving it.
Can’t wait to head out to KCW next week for my visit. Can’t believe I’ll be at the shop in person after all these years!
in reply to: JJ's projects #10345Glad it went well, now you just have to take it easy for a bit 🙂
in reply to: Who's on Instagram? #10271I’m @barefootdriver – I’ll give you a follow ??
in reply to: all things JJJ’s #10262One of the best looking patina trucks. The rolling shot from the driver’s rear is the one that did it for me.
Yeah that rolling shot was my desktop for about 5 years!
in reply to: Patina Volkswagens Book #10260Thanks for posting that Franz – I’m trying to find some contact details for Patrick Hall, so I can put it in the book…
