Regular Chocolate Chip it is! 👍🏻 😁
Thank you so much for putting so much thought into this Andy and Franz – I can’t wait to be driving my vanagon in the not so far future!!! 😁👏🏻
I saw some pictures of the front seats, and they look awesome! Hopefully Corporate can post some when they get to the shop!
It’s all coming together!Audrey JonesModeratorOctober 6, 2018 at 3:17 pmPost count: 154
Wow!!! Sorry I haven’t posted in so long… Huge thanks to everyone for working on and coordinating all of this once again!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I am SO excited!! It is looking awesome! I can’t wait to be driving a VW again! And damn, Vanagons are HUGE inside, so much room for activities! 😁😁
Thank you so much again Andy for coming to build my motor!! I am going to try my best to come to GJ that weekend to see you in person and make some homemade cookies for you! That’s my specialty…. 😉😁
The floor looks amazing!! 😍 And we talked to Doug today about the seats, which I think will look amazing too! Turquoise with tan stitching, with lots of pockets of course!!
If Camping is for Hippies, then I guess its official 😆…. according to my friends in Boulder my parents are hippies…. All I know is they are wayyy cooler than I am and I’m excited to be one step closer to their status 😎😎Audrey JonesModeratorSeptember 3, 2018 at 9:29 amPost count: 154
Thanks Bubba, I can’t wait to be camping in it!!!
Another great weekend working on the Vanagon!! Corporate and I got a lot done!
We discovered Vinyl Paint and decided that would be the easiest/cheapest/quickest option to give the headliner a little facelift! The white headliner already looked pretty good, just looked dirty after ripping the AC out… The caramel color turned out awesome and warms it up in there a lot!
Pat K also cut my floor for me!!! And we picked a nice bright cedar color to stain it! Thanks Pat!!!
We also found this awesome turquoise fabric laying around for all the seats and the pad in the back!!
After painting the ceiling and recovering the back panels with some rust colored burlap, we put all the cabinets we have in and we have a pretty awesome mock-up of it!!
I am so stoked on how its turning out and I can’t wait to be camping in this thing!!
Huge thanks to everyone at the shop and the KCW community for helping us with this project!! And Andy- Thanks for bringing out my cabinets and coming out to build my motor!!Audrey JonesModeratorJuly 23, 2018 at 1:51 pmPost count: 154Audrey JonesModeratorJuly 23, 2018 at 1:47 pmPost count: 154
So true Glenn, made me think of lots of great childhood memories! Super cool that this time it is on my bus!! I’m still a little bit in disbelief… I can’t believe it’s really mine!!! ??
Sounds like the subi motor will take me anywhere I need to go! That will be nice for me… I have some learning to do before I can be a roadside mechanic! ?Audrey JonesModeratorJuly 22, 2018 at 9:04 pmPost count: 154
Woo hoo!!!! Thanks for starting this thread and for the picture, Will!! ???
Huge thanks to my whole awesome family for getting out there and getting dirty all day in heat to clean out my Vanagon!! It was a fun weekend… and very productive! We have a nice clean slate to work with now??????
I know this isn’t the typical KCW build… ????? but I am soooo excited!!! It’s gonna be fun to change it up… plus this can always be a stepping stone to a splitty one day ??????? I gotta say, this thing has SO MUCH SPACE!!!! It’s going be fun designing a cool camping interior for sure!! Corporate and I can’t wait! ???
THANK YOU KCW!!!! ??????Audrey JonesModeratorOctober 2, 2017 at 2:32 pmPost count: 154
Funny… You really NEVER get away from VW’s when you hang out with Corporate, me… or any of my close friends…. I do not recall the last trip I took that wasn’t in a VW… all day everyday… till death do us part…. ? ?
THIS is what I miss most about living at home/behind KCW! The Volkswagen community is truely amazing! I love the many many Volkswagen adventures our family went on throughout my childhood, even with the many repair stops on the side of the road – hey, the best stories don’t come from the trips that went just perfectly, right?!
Whenever I see an old Volkswagen around Boulder I always want to stop and chat, then I realize I’m driving a CRV and they will likely think i’m just some ditzy college-age girl who wants to take a picture with thier “hippy van”… LOL… little do they know…. ???Audrey JonesModeratorAugust 13, 2017 at 8:27 pmPost count: 154
Test… Looking forward to seeing the new website come along!
We are starting off simple, getting everything worked out, and seeing what we are going to need to do and change along the way… So we appreciate some patience 🙂
I think all of us got a little too excited earlier today… 😉
