in reply to: on Craigslist…… #86411
Is still pick up the Thrifty Nickel every week.
I don’t remember the last time I saw a Nickle in this area. Guess they just don’t have anyone willing to haul them up and distribute them up at the back side of no where.

in reply to: KCW randomness #86230Rusty doesn’t go to shows But I think we should hit one in our bare metal cars
If you do, I want to see lots of pictures / videos of peoples reactions to them.
in reply to: on Craigslist…… #86162Not Craigslist, but facebook marketplace. Just spotted this. Looks like a shorty bus waiting to happen. Rusty ? John ? Scott? Anyone ?
in reply to: Buds DC project! #86152Hey John, I hate to see you sitting on the floor like that. Back in the day when I had to assume that position in order to work it killed my back. So I picked up a nice office chair with low back support and a comfortable seat at the local Thrift store. Was two or three dollars back then, probably ten or fifteen now. Took the post off it and mounted the upper chair directly to the rolling base. Put my ass a few inches off the floor comfortably and could easily move around without wearing out the seat of my pants on the concrete.
in reply to: KCW randomness #86141Not fair ! Now I’m even more conflicted.
in reply to: KCW randomness #86135Damn ! Not sure which one I like better .
in reply to: Buds DC project! #86134After market parts that actually fit pretty good. Not something I had a lot of good luck with.
in reply to: Scott Moss’ 23 Window!!! #86013It’s not easy being green Even if John makes it look like it is. Looking sharp !
in reply to: JJ’s Silver Bullet #85972Eddie is a solid guy in the Denver VW community. He’s a good friend of mine also. Dudes knowledge on everything is crazy. Solid trans builder.
Been trying to place where I met him. Is he the guy who drove his open buggy with the 1/2 VW engine over from Denver in a rain storm in order to attend the (maybe 10 year) KCW party many years ago ?
I think that was Keith. I might be wrong, but don’t believe that was Eddie.
Thanks. I’m terrible with remembering names and faces.

in reply to: KCW randomness #85904Oh darn, look what ended up on my trailer! A Wells Coyote. Best hill climb race car ever built. I got it for practically nothing but it needs a lot of love. However, just now I am finishing with my homebrew Hayabusa hill climb car I have spent the past year building from scratch, the Coyote will have to go straight to a back burner project. Since it was last raced with Colorado Hill Climb Association it has been robbed of its built subi engine and bus trans. It now has a ragged looking subi and type 1 trans from a sand rail. Probably going to need trans work to fix drive direction since it’s mid engine, and missing all the shift linkage. Sigh- another project
Is this the rig from Arizona ?
