Good weekend… Lots of work done… Didn’t leave the shop.. which means I didn’t spend any money!!!!!! 🙂  🙂  🙂  🙂  🙂

I got the engine 100% dialed and ready for service! 😉   I see Peet has it up on the lift and the tranny out… scraping MORE grease off.   I need to get some spring plates notched this morning…  and then I guess I will help in the clean shop on it.. 😉   I didn’t get those fuch’s done this weekend… I got lazy… 😳

so much goodness to report….. did I mention yoru tranny was the worst greasiest thing I may have ever cleaned in my life.. 😯  😯  😯  😯  😯   It was missing the plugs up front on the mid section…. so we got some plugs and put em in… We also found a bad ground strap, and a bad throw out bearing shaft…   Mounts were shot ofcourse….   But Pat has this shit handled.. and everything will be perfect when it’s done…. 😉

 

Zack your the proud owner of some detailed Fuch’s.  Now.. Notice only one wheel is a 5.5???  They sent 3 4.5’s and 1 5.5… so yo9ru gonna have s detailed spare also!!!  We ordered another 5.5 today and a nother 145 for the spare. 😉  😉  😉  😉

Will is gonna have wheel envy…. 😀  😀  😀

This is such an awesome project. To be honest it gives me hope that a nice build, daily driver can be built without a full blown restoration. It’s amazing.

Zacks bug is going to be sweet. Fuching awesome ?. Can’t wait to see it next to franz bug. Almost twins. Damm that bug is pretty solid kinda having sellers remorse. But it’s been fun to watch Gretchen and John work on this one  Kcw is giving it the love it deserves!! Fuch yea

More progress…. were getting there daily!!!! 😉   I got Pedals sorted.  The clutch hook was about to break… Glad we pulled em…. I welded it all back up and ground it down, also drilled for the safety wire treatment.  I know you don’t like roller pedals much…. so I found a bus pedal and modified it to work… It will be slick. 😉   Also rounded up matching headlight buckets and rings and cleaned things up for assy tomorrow. 😉   Peet got the back of the car done… New tar board kit in, new engine bay seals, repaired all your wiring, soldered every joint.. New boots, and brakes and lines and starter and shocks etc etc etc..

and a pile of bumpers parts to sort and make work..

Yup! Cut the tunnel and weld up supports!!! This is a TON of work for a patina Bug but it’s gonna be super easy in the future to troubleshoot any problems that might pop up knowing it was Completely gone through!!!!!!!!!! 😀

Every day I check this thread I get exponentially more excited about this car! The engine, disc brakes and shocks look SICK!!!!! Super happy you remembered I don’t like roller pedals as much as normal ones too!

 

The patina looks that much cooler with the nice parts sitting under it 😉

gonna assemble some headlights this morning.. order all 12V bulbs for your cars lights and go through em all.. get em ready for install! 😉

I imagine the front end will start going together today….. I bet she’s on the ground this weekend..   😉   Then I gotta get douglas on a headliner!
