Hereβs a shot from the early 90s. Thatβs my 64 DC, not sure what year Baja and my 65 standard. I also had a 60s deluxe (OG paint) bus next to the 65i paid $285 for the DC. $150 for the standard, $600 for the Baja and $75 for the deluxe
I drove the standard w my gfriend out to the outer banks, NC through Chicago (where my brother lived) and upstate NY to visit my parents where they made me park it in the garage so the neighbors wouldnβt see it and left a great oil stain on the floor of their new garage. Ha
I was pulled over by the heat several times on that trip, never got a ticket but was searched a few times and def harassed.
I remember watching police cars going the other way on the hwy turn around erratically to speed back to pull me over. HahahahaOther great stories from this trip will have to surface again
Paid twice as much for the baja as the DC lol!
My k5 blazer and my first piece of real estate, circa 1985 or so. Sure had a lot of fun with that rig!

Not a vw or even a car, but we found this guy in pics from my wife’s family stuff π His name and relation is lost to time, nobody knows him…
Guessing from his clothes it’s turn of the century but if it was 50’s I know he would be driving a single cab.
Iβd lie and claim heβs your Grandpa!!! What a Bad Ass!!!!!ππππ
He might have handcuffs on in that pic???
