Ok I’ll start the thread, this is my first bus after I sold all my cal bug, type 3 and baja stuff when I left California. Swore that I was out of old cars, gonna be a farmer 🙂 🙂 Less than 6 months in Colorado and this followed me home. Price was $95 in 1993! Threw a set of points and a battery in it and drove it home!

My notchbacks I had back in the late 80’s. The black one I bodyworked, had painted and drove a lot. That pic is in the redwoods, on our honeymoon. White sunroof car I bought to flip, Did a quick paint and body job in my driveway and then drove it from cal to Colorado and back. Blew up the motor on the grade coming back into San Diego, but I didn’t gaf, I had work in Colorado and was leaving the big city!!

My friend’s Dad brought home a tunnel buggy, stick welder and torch when we were 16. We found some old pipe and built a rail out of it. That got me started in vw’s and fabricating junk. My friend and I both promptly bought manx buggies 🙂 Rail pic is marked Memorial Day 1980.

The Banana back in 1982 after we just drove west to east across Australia…..2180cc of raucous fun

and 1984…the $500 Westfalia with the seized motor,we bought in Denver.Rebuilt the motor at my friend’s house in Arvada,before heading off on our 2 year trip across USA. A one owner score ,on the side of the road in Cherry Creek
