Good thinking Pat!!!
Pats gonna be on Pan and suspension duty for a few weeks!!! 😎 Shiney black or maybe a semi gloss??? I like both, semi is nice contrast to all the other shiney parts around it… or maybe some contrasting colors??? 😎alykatParticipantApril 23, 2020 at 6:19 amPost count: 551

One of the beam bolts broke off in the pan head when we pulled the front roller jig off. They had a chunk of ball joint beam section for the jig that was putting the bolts at a funny angle.
I used a couple sections of tube slipped into each other and tacked that to the bulkhead as a drill guide.
Worked my way up to the correct size then ran a tap through it.
NAILED IT!!!! Feels good!!!!!!
Franz wanted the shift rod bushing updated to a new style that has the replaceable bushing.
I bolted the new one down, upside down and drilled through the location dimples to mark plug weld locations for it, which are the same locations as the old spot welds. Worked like a charm!!!
Welded up a few odd holes and made a couple of new clips for the rear brake line.
Moved the pan over to the rotisserie. Still need to look over the bottom side and then it will be ready for abrasive blasting.
We will build it if it comes.Lone StarParticipantApril 24, 2020 at 8:37 amPost count: 229
Great work, Pat….I’m glad the broken bolt didn’t give you to much of headache getting it out.Lone StarParticipantApril 24, 2020 at 8:40 amPost count: 229

Had to dig a few parts out of the trailer we needed for this. Rear brake backing plates, spindle carriers, and torsion arms.
Got everything blasted, hung, and masked.
Epoxy sealed and two coats of shiny black single stage laid down.
We will build it if it comes.Lone StarParticipantApril 28, 2020 at 9:42 amPost count: 229Lone StarParticipantApril 28, 2020 at 9:44 amPost count: 229

Thanks Pat. 🙂 What size front beam did y’all make for Mary’s car?FranzKeymasterApril 29, 2020 at 7:48 amPost count: 3924
With the king crabs you don’t need much of a narrowed beam. This is a 2” with needle bearings.Pat KKeymasterApril 29, 2020 at 1:56 pmPost count: 1658
Just finishing up a long night. Sanded the pan down in every nook and cranny. Rolled it out to the booth laid down one coat of epoxy sealer and two coats of shiny black single stage.
We will build it if it comes.RustabusParticipantApril 29, 2020 at 2:11 pmPost count: 2078
