I think they have to be serviced frequently? I’d rather take advantage of modern technology for the ignition system.

www.germanaire.comDelayed update. Friday I was able to get the spindles all put together with new bushings, king and link pins.
Got them installed on the front end along with rotors, calipers and softlines.
Your pedal assembly and ashtray arrived the other day.
Tore down the pedal assembly last night. Got everything sandblasted, laid down some shiny back paint, and cleaned up all the other bits.
Wheel studs in.
We were missing the adjuster for the ebrake pushrod. I used a 12mm bolt that needed some whittling, and a small piece of square stock to fa-bro-cate one.
”Baaaaaaaaaam!!!”
We will build it if it comes.
The midnight worker.. getting it done… I think he likes this shift… 😎
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
The virus shift??
Looks good pat.. your pretty badass 🌈

Great Job…Especially the fa-bro-cat-ed part…
😎 😎 😎 Whats next for this one???

Finish the pan. Then its onto wiring the body. Corona Ryan has the speedo. I sent Kelly a link to those sweet blapunkt radios from Tiawan.
We need to buy a speaker grill off of samba too.
Hi, could you share that link here. I am in Taiwan and could use a proper radio for a beetle. Thanks
Thanks, i reached out to them. These guys are in Thailand, so not so far away.
More parts rolled in for this one. New torsion bushing in, spring plate angle set, all bolted down and ready for brake assy.
Cleaned out all of the cable tubes. Round one!
Gets a little better each time.
After about ten rounds it comes out as clean as it goes in.
Both heater cable tubes had broken off cables stuck in them. That sucked!
Early ovals had a shorter straight shift rod. We didn’t have one but we had the parts to make one.
Installed the modified rod along with a shifter. Everything works great! Need to pull everything back apart for finish welding.
We will build it if it comes.
Good to see this one moving along. Great thinking on fabricating the shifter rod. I had been hunting for one, but no luck.
Pat cutting a drum.
