He’s almost outta here!!! 😎 BYE BYE WILLY! 😎 I mean with all due respect!
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
Yup, on the road again! This time with some new Panchito heads and general refreshing. I learned a lot more about engines this trip, like stuff that I used to just nod my head and agree with when we’d talk about it previously. And we did some math!
New specs:
2332cc – 94mm bore – 84mm stroke – 68cc chambers – .040 deck height – 8.8:1 compression
I’m thinking this is a nice winning combination now, instead of the drag racing heads from before.
The old heads were definitely a little messed up…
Spent our first day on the head swap, second on heat and other small fixes.
Almost to Green River now and seems to be putting right along. Sunny but cold so far. Gianni is taking the first leg. Our goal is Zion but we’ll see where we actually end up.
Thanks JJ, Gretchen, Audrey, Zack, Â Franz, Pat, and Riley for putting up with us again! Always much appreciated. Ill keep you posted on our progress and look forward to seeing you in Havasu!!
Awesome… Safe Travels!! Keep us updated for sure!!!! Your welcome.. I hope it gives you many many many miles of happiness… and at least one child.. 😎 😎 😎

Who do we know for parts in Las Vegas? I had a carb linkage shaft shear itself apart in the middle of Zion. Guess they could’ve used some lubrication…. I’ve got it wired to the main linkage arm right now, but thinking super glue and zip ties until we can get to somewhere with new parts.
Dub_fab Michael Anderson is in St. George.

plenty of dudes in vegas… Just post up on some sort of social media.. You’ll get help…
I wanna see a pic please… sounds like a part we need to add to the break down box? I bet you saw 10 of them in the trailer … 😎

Yeah, here’s what went wrong and my solution:Â
We’re at Dubfab now. Either taking something from an engine around here or running to Ace to find something similar. Honestly though, I feel like the bailing wire would be able to get us home.
Center punch on a solid bench. Should expand the outside so that it won’t fall apart.
Sweet, thanks. Center punched, glued, and bailing wire insurance on it. Should be good enough to get home now.
We also lost our muffler support bracket… luckily I’ve got photo evidence of the last person to touch it. Michael was generous enough to fab one up for us to replace it. Thanks for your help, Michael!! Back on the road.
^^^ Right over the hill by US93? That’s where my transmission took a shit. 🙂
I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.
I’m happy to see you working through the problems.. Your learning your Macgyver skills!!! 😎 😎 😎
How about Dub Fab’s “shop”… 😎 Pretty much just like kcw huh…. 😎 😎 😎

Haha yup, pretty much the same. It’s really nice understanding the bus enough to figure out those little roadside mcgyver fixes. I feel a lot more confident that I can at least get where we need to now.
This is all good to hear Willy… That was my plan.. 😎 😎 😎 to get ya confident and experienced enough, to drive repair and enjoy your volkswagen as much as I do… 😎 😎 😎 Also why I won’t work on the Doka for ya.. I wanted to teach you how to work on your own stuff and not have to pay someone.
