I think Will has his bus ready to go… He has been here working on his and Glenn’s manx project they bought and some how convinced me I should let them work on it here…
Which is fine for the most part…. Would be sweet if you checked all the doors before you left, and maybe locked the gate right… AND…. One of the pre requisites for working on personal projects around here, projects the shop is not making any money on, I look forward to the extra traffic and hype and posts that it will generate if posted and if the thread is maintained and updated daily will maybe make up for a little tiny but of the loss of haveing an outside project here.. 1 person is enough… But Willy always has a FAN club with him also… almost always… Ok.. as you will… Leave no trace, do as I would do..Maybe this is just JJ giving Will a hard time so please disregard if I’m out of line…but if not it sounds like the typical “taking it for granted” mentality…If I was close enough and had the opportunity to work in a shop like KCW and be around people like the KCW crew/Family, there would be no way on earth I could leave a trace…If anything, instead of ” leave no trace” it would be “oh cool that fat red bearded dude was here and made some improvements before he left” lol. Anyone that has KCW as their local shop is extremely lucky…I personally would kill to have that place close to me.
Well, shit. Looks like I’m SOL for a while on this thing. 94mm Panchito heads are out of stock for the foreseeable future… Maybe I can finish the 2007cc and stick it in temporarily? Sucks to have a freshly completed camper down, especially heading into the best camping season of the year :(😭
As an update for the sake of the thread, we put this thing back together and had it all dialed in for the trip to Lava, but only a little ways into the drive it was hesitating a bit and getting hotter than usual. Just kept driving though since we didn’t have any major issues until we pulled into a gas station 80 miles from the Lava. It was barely idling and clearly running on 3. We pulled the valve cover and #4 exhaust was super tight. Loosened it up and kept going to the campsite. Pulled the rockers later that weekend and #4 is sticking way out. Bummer.
Going to go with Brian-Es suggestion of doing 94mm Panchitos to dial back my drag racing engine a bit… and hopefully reduce my chances of over-doing it again later. I think I got it too hot on Baker hill leaving California. Even though we left in the evening it was still close to 90, and I can’t hold back this many horsies.
Got some nice photos close to Lava to distract myself from the ticking time bomb that was pushing us along, though!
