Tomorrow at our local drag strip -Western Colorado dragway 115 32rd.

Sounds like there is going to be a big turn out. A wedding at noon. Pro and sportsman classes with decent pay-outs…I heard $700.

I’m going to race my 1600cc 63 beetle in the sportsman class…see if I can win with a 23 second quarter mile. 🙂

Awesome weekend of Drag Racing!! Thanks for organizing it all, Eric!! The 1131 Drag car seems to tap out around 75mpg and was running between 16.75 – 17.3! Not too bad 😁
JJ and Blaine dueled for the 1131 cars last race in the mains, they both dialed in at 17.2, but Blaine had a great reaction time and won 👏🏻😎 always fun racing friends!!JJ and Dan’s Ovals did a qualifier together and both ran 17.33s! 
MAN it was cool watching Ernie wheelie!!! Apparently this is nothin compared to sea level too 😏Franz vs. Darin Mack for the final in Sportsman!! Double Break out, but Franz broke out worse – DANG! It was so fun to watch Franz do so we’ll in his daily! 👏🏻 It’s all about consistency! 
it’s always so fun to hang out and camp and race!! Here is ANOTHER group of VW people that we get together with, one that’s different than the class 11 racing crew, or the camping crew, or the show car crew… but awesome in its own way too! 🤙🏼🏁👏🏻

we didn’t come home with any wins, but we had the most fun we’ve ever had drag racing this weekend 😎

Looks like it was a great time. I agree with Audrey that it cool that there are so many different groups within the larger air cooled VW family. About the only fraction I don’t see much of around here are the kit car folks. Anyone else out there in the KCW  circle working on one ? Might be fun if there could be a few of these show up at next years races ?

11:00 and 10:50 I think. Plug wire fell off the first time, and not sure on the second. He parked it after that, said “not running right”.

Eric also torched a head/cylinder on his gold dune buggy Friday night.
