I think I am gonna stick around and work on something.. 😎 I wanna save the miles on my bus for my trip in 2 weeks to South Dakota!!! 😎
Thanks for the invite!
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
I hope my next camp trip to Utah is to some sand… 😎 😎 Probably just white wash to work out any bugs before Little Sahara!!!! 😎

Sucks you can’t make it JJ, I should stay home and work too, but winter is coming and I will get some things done then… let me know when you head to little sahara, I’ll head out and be your copilot if you need one. 😎
Utah upcoming trips! Been itching to camp again since SST.
sounds like Ottinger Moab camp out will be April 24-26.
Also, I am thinking of doing the Utah 300 trip April 30th-May 3rd. That way I can travel and do both! Sounds like Wayner is in. Talked to some of the Shasta people and I think some may come out for both as well! Going to come up with a route and some more details soon!
Sounds awesome. I think exploring all the backroads around and on the swell would be cool.
if I was a cowboy hiding from the law in the 1880’s that where I would have gone.
If Im not in Baja, Ill be on this trip !
Got a message from Loren saying that he and Brian Piercy plan on coming to the Utah 300 and Moab trips!
been looking at the swell Franz. Got a few good options. I want to really lost hahaha! Woohoo
Those guys will enjoy the utah 300… but I think the moab trip is way way way way way too slow for them guys…
maybe sonny can turn us onto some good roads.. maybe go the hard way to Gemini bridges?.. Ora fly down onion creek?…

Maybe one day the cruise with the big group and then one day the faster group can go find some fun trails.
The Swell sounds awesome for the 300!
I think this year is going to be interesting for the Ottinger campout, there is 150 saying they are coming on the event page and I have seen several talk about coming from all over the west. Skinner and UTA boys keep pushing it all over social media. It might have the potential for doubling or tripling the size this year. I will be calling Sonny to give a heads up as I don’t want him to get into trouble with the local govt or bring more attention to him than needed. Best advice I was given working for the Govt is stay off their radar.
Will be interesting to see how it all plays out, I think there will definitely have to be two trips this year and more honey buckets aka porta potties.
Might be worth having a spot to camp out of town a bit…. I know sonny has land south of town. Could be good to do that instead

Not a bad idea, I have some thoughts on how to have a couple groups and need to talk to Sonny first since it is his event. If anyone has ideas let me know and I will give them to Sonny.
I definitely think there will be multiple groups to different areas this year. Could be similar to Syncro Solstice when I went. Still fun and everyone had a good time driving in different abilities to different areas but a large group at camp.
I enjoy the tour with the Ottingers but down to do another area not with the tour buses and that will help with a huge bus train. I know Sonny would be open to a small group gathering anytime.
Next year I think word of mouth for the event would be great, dont want to see this turn into Black Star 2.0
Hope people don’t start showing up the Monday before Moab to get a good warehouse lot camp spot.
It was crowded last year and its sounding like more folks are coming from farther and wider this year.
We will build it if it comes.
Listening to Lin and Sonny’s geological knowledge/theory is my favorite part of the tour.
Maybe we do the porupine rim and castle valley over-look for the Saturday cruise? Or onion creek?…Then we can split up. One group to go further out in the desert and camp on BLM.
Could we talk Lin and Sonny into a camping trip with their westy??

That sound like a good plan, I will definitely try to get them out! Would be awesome to have them camping.
