Its more of a lift tank/pump, so its not an integral part of the system. If the aux tank was comprimised, the main tank would not be affected. The idea is as the main tank gets low, you’ll flip a switch to transfer fuel. There is not a gauge in the aux tank….you’ll have to watch the main tank fill and turn off the lift pump when done.
I have some schematics of the plumbing I’ll post later.
Burley said he knows a guy that will probably have the syncro switch light harness. Fingers crossed.
That’ll be nice to have so much range.
Such a gnarly rig… all the cool stuff on it!
Thanks for cleaning up some of my wiring while you had it apart Franz!
Any update on that 6 pin connector? Go West got back to me and they don’t have one. The shop in SLC I called doesn’t either. Go Westy gave me this list of recommendations though.

Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎

One of these would be cool.
The aux. tank and fuel system/vents are 100% done. I ran all the vent and fill hoses as illustrated in the above diagram.
Modified filler by cutting out the gas nozzle restrictor. It will fit the diesel refuel station better.
This is the passenger wheel well, you can see the hose clamps and “t” for where the stock tank vents and the lift tank inputs fuel.
low pressure lift pump behind the aux. tank.
Thinking about skid plates tomorrow.
Franz’s knocking the check list out, one unit at a time!!!! Almost there!!!! Then I get to paint it huh…. Dove Blue? 😎 Only L31 Syncro on earth….. 😎

Already planning a trip to Mexico with Cole for Christmas break to break this thing in, who’s coming? Bubba? Surfing? Tacos? ‘Rona’s?
🌞 baywindows are the shit 🌞
Its going to be a great Mexico rig. Go anywhere, camp, not get stuck, and it blends in.
Burley skid plates are fitting great. This is custom front plate that he made. Its narrower at front to reduce weight and allow better airflow through the radiator. I like it.
Burely make complete new heavy duty rails that were easy to install. I’m working on the engine and transaxle skid plates today. Looks like I’ll be able to use the original syncro piece with a slightly taller hanger in the rear.

Thanks for the invite but Im headed back down early Nov for a few weeks and prob couldn’t do Xmas trip. Where are you guys going ?
Found something else that we may eventually need. Supposedly the vanagon sway bar end links have a tendency to work themselves loose on a lifted vanagon. This guy makes a heavy duty unit with bolt on links. Not in stock currently.
