Uhh, Doug is not going to have blackberry canvas to make a boot out of. Maybe a leather boot? Like the top will ever be down. 🙄
Probably easiest to order it from Chucks.Pat KKeymasterMay 24, 2019 at 7:40 amPost count: 825

I’m getting excited……. can’t wait to see it come finally together.FranzKeymasterMay 29, 2019 at 12:38 pmPost count: 2369
I’m getting back in the groove. OG tin collection… stale-air 40hp with 1600cc cylinder tin….Going for vintage look on a 1914cc . Porsche linkage too.
I like to hammer the edge flat on the front tin to prevent it from rubbing/cutting hose and wires.FranzKeymasterMay 30, 2019 at 11:46 pmPost count: 2369
Reversed Porsche linkage fit and functional.
Original bell crank on the right, modified on the left. This is the hardest part of the linkage to fit the VW throttle cable location.
6 volt generator backing plate modified to fit 12 volt. Looks cool.PeteParticipantMay 31, 2019 at 6:15 amPost count: 668
Like déjà vu! Looks great, Franz! Looking forward to seeing this come together.unkParticipantMay 31, 2019 at 6:40 amPost count: 273
Cool college-level stuff right there. Love it.FranzKeymasterJune 3, 2019 at 11:08 pmPost count: 2369
Fan shroud and linkage fully welded and worked over. Wire tabs and velocity ring installed. Ready to blast and paint Porsche silver super spec.
Fitting stale air heater boxes and lower cylinder tin. Required some small gaps to be filled. Beetle hood seal channel worked nicely.unkParticipantJune 4, 2019 at 12:40 pmPost count: 273
Burgundy matching vert boot is on its way. Sent to Franz attention. Chuck said you should have it this month so it can be fitted before it comes home. Thanks.FranzKeymasterJune 5, 2019 at 7:10 amPost count: 2369
