Looking good! That is going to be a sick RHD Vert
i doubt you want to send the radio to Canada but i had a local guy do my big M way back 10-15 years ago i’d say
no bluetooth then but changed it to am/fm with iPod hookup , i’m sure blue tooth would not be an issue
i remember him taking a bit of time to do it and he was local to me but here is his website if interested
The locksmith was able to re-assemble the lock. I installed….but found out via samba research that convertible also had a different metal tab welded to the dash for the longer latch to grab on. Because the RHD dash clip was not convertible it needs modified. Project for tomorrow morning.
These are special special early vert aluminum door hinge grease zerks. One was broken off durring disassembly…I was able to make a special stud that I will JB weld to the zerk…I don’t have any other good ideas here…TIG welding would surely melt the whole piece.
Cleaned up the funky accessory mirror that came with the car. A couple pits, but whatever.
Thanks for everything u guys are doing. Really nice to see this coming together.
Another option on the radio; Rich Langenwalter rebuilt my Sapphire I, adding an FM board and MP3 hookup. Don’t know if he does Bluetooth but you can always ask. He’s also in Lakewood, Colorado.

Thanks for all the radio info.
Thats the guy you guys told me to first contact. He seemed like he was a retired guy that didn’t really care. Said he was working on it, then never heard back.
Aurora Design requires you to connect with their dealer network of indepentant shops. Which I tried. And they are like “Why are you bothering us with this dumb radio question”
So, I’m over it. It’s in, its clean, and the backlight works with the headlights. Job done. Listen to your engine or get a speaker for your phone. I have bigger things to worry about on this project.
It seems like nothing is going together easily. Like its a cursed car or something.
Feeling good about assembly today. Dash is done, wiring is done, brakes are done, steering is done.
The car is pretty much ready to drive minus the engine….So that is what I’m going to work on now.
Next, we need a gas tank, install the top, dial the paint 100%, and do all the dumb convertible windows/frames/seals.
Found this super-nice early 40hp fan shroud…looks like it came from an industrial engine…See the stencil and scratched-in numbers on top AL-6112.
og 12volt generator stand too…I’ll make a cool regulator that mounts on top of the generator like early engines have.
Expensive Porsche fan shroud that I’m going to cut all up.
Did our new vert top arrive? Wondering how it looks…..
I assume chuck is making it from scratch.
I got a confirmation email last week about it.
Daaaaang…..that black top being messed up was a blessing in disguise.
