Right on! I think we definitely go with chrome trim.

Get doug on the vert top boot.  Give us plenty of lead time for our completion date.  Thanks.  The top looks wayyy better quality.

Uhh, Doug is not going to have blackberry canvas to make a boot out of. Maybe a leather boot? Like the top will ever be down. 🙄

Probably easiest to order it from Chucks.

I’m getting back in the groove. OG tin collection… stale-air 40hp with 1600cc cylinder tin….Going for vintage look on a 1914cc . Porsche linkage too.

I like to hammer the edge flat on the front tin to prevent it from rubbing/cutting hose and wires.

Reversed Porsche linkage fit and functional.

Original bell crank on the right, modified on the left. This is the hardest part of the linkage to fit the VW throttle cable location.

6 volt generator backing plate modified to fit 12 volt. Looks cool.

Fan shroud and linkage fully welded and worked over. Wire tabs and velocity ring installed. Ready to blast and paint Porsche silver super spec.

Fitting stale air heater boxes and lower cylinder tin. Required some small gaps to be filled. Beetle hood seal channel worked nicely.

Burgundy matching vert boot is on its way.    Sent to Franz attention.  Chuck said you should have it this month so it can be fitted before it comes home.  Thanks.

Super un-interesting work….but I’ve got all the tin fit and modified. Your heater should rock. I made sure to close all the gaps and holes to get max air flow.
