Thanks for all the radio info.
Thats the guy you guys told me to first contact. He seemed like he was a retired guy that didn’t really care. Said he was working on it, then never heard back.
Aurora Design requires you to connect with their dealer network of indepentant shops. Which I tried. And they are like “Why are you bothering us with this dumb radio question”
So, I’m over it. It’s in, its clean, and the backlight works with the headlights. Job done. Listen to your engine or get a speaker for your phone. I have bigger things to worry about on this project.
It seems like nothing is going together easily. Like its a cursed car or something.FranzKeymasterApril 17, 2019 at 8:46 amPost count: 3089
Feeling good about assembly today. Dash is done, wiring is done, brakes are done, steering is done.
The car is pretty much ready to drive minus the engine….So that is what I’m going to work on now.
Next, we need a gas tank, install the top, dial the paint 100%, and do all the dumb convertible windows/frames/seals.
Found this super-nice early 40hp fan shroud…looks like it came from an industrial engine…See the stencil and scratched-in numbers on top AL-6112.
og 12volt generator stand too…I’ll make a cool regulator that mounts on top of the generator like early engines have.
Expensive Porsche fan shroud that I’m going to cut all up.unkParticipantApril 22, 2019 at 2:36 pmPost count: 377
Did our new vert top arrive? Wondering how it looks…..FranzKeymasterApril 22, 2019 at 2:55 pmPost count: 3089
I assume chuck is making it from scratch.
I got a confirmation email last week about it.PeteParticipantMay 1, 2019 at 1:27 pmPost count: 813

Oh ya…..does anyone else cringe every time they see those tires? I love the rims…..but I think I need some thick M/T or firestone racing radials on there.
No, john….no fuchs.FranzKeymasterMay 2, 2019 at 12:02 pmPost count: 3089
Yeah those tires suck. Black wall, right?PeteParticipantMay 2, 2019 at 12:05 pmPost count: 813
Yeah, those tires don’t work. Are you taking votes? If so…my vote is the Firestone Wide Oval radial on the rear, Firestone F560 front.unkParticipantMay 2, 2019 at 12:05 pmPost count: 377John JonesKeymasterMay 2, 2019 at 1:27 pmPost count: 5910
I heard from Chris the other day.. they are still an option, I think they will be back soon…. and real porsche wheels.. 😎 😎
I’ve tried to talk you into Fuch’s.. I know it has nothing to do with how great detailed fuch’s look on any car, and timeless, and universally recognized, and never will go out of style..
You and Creig want to look like twinzies… 😎 😎Baja MarkParticipantMay 2, 2019 at 3:19 pmPost count: 373
I like the space savers but go Michelin XZX 145s on the front with Michelin XWX 205/70 on the rear. I reckon a red pinstripe or double pinstripe on the wheel rims would tie it in with the interior and roof. Just my .02alykatParticipantMay 3, 2019 at 7:22 amPost count: 385
I’m liking the way Mark is thinking. Red pinstripe sounds good.Pat KKeymasterMay 3, 2019 at 7:40 amPost count: 1172
