Creig….lets fly out the morning of March 15th. Fly home Sunday.FranzKeymasterMarch 1, 2019 at 9:34 amPost count: 3099
Uh-oh Doug. We have the wrong canvas. I order a early one on Tuesday along with a bunch of window/door/top rubber and rebuild pieces.unkParticipantMarch 8, 2019 at 7:43 amPost count: 377
You guys around next weekend (march 15-17)? Creig and I were gonna drop in and help you refill the clean shop fridge with beer and then help you drink it.
I think Creig is pulling the poo-poo vert over for Doug to work on the top. I’d be flying in around noon on Friday. Plan for a bbq on Saturday afternoon/evening. hang some shiny parts on the vert maybe……
Let us know so that I can book my ticket for another turbulent flight into GJ.FranzKeymasterMarch 8, 2019 at 8:33 amPost count: 3099
Oh dang dude, I’m leaving on spring break with my family next Thurs. I’m going to miss you guys. Creig is going to leave the vert at Doug’s shop?
JJ and and everybody else should be here though.FranzKeymasterMarch 8, 2019 at 8:35 amPost count: 3099
Still have not got the replacement early top I order from Chuck’s last week.unkParticipantMarch 8, 2019 at 8:54 amPost count: 377
Plane tickets are stupid expensive anyway. $1,100…really? screw that. I will fly out in April when spring break prices go away.unkParticipantApril 1, 2019 at 8:21 amPost count: 377
Bump. Bump. 3 weeks without a post…yikes.
I am getting pretty excited to see this completed. I just looked at my emails….I delivered this to KCW in December, 2015 timeframe. Wow time flies. 65 degrees in Madison this week. Gonna be vert weather before you know it. Thanks, guys. We still looking at a May completion hopefully?! [fingers crossed].FranzKeymasterApril 1, 2019 at 8:27 amPost count: 3099
Doug has been working on a big crazy interior for 57 chevy. He keep telling me that hes super stressed. After that is done, I hope we can get him to finish this top.John JonesKeymasterApril 1, 2019 at 3:41 pmPost count: 5910
were about to ramp things back up…. That top not being the right one was a freakin bummer!! We had some good momentum going there for a few weeks… 😎 Anyway… Like Franz said… Douglas is almost ours again!!!! Like Dr Franz… Doug is only one man, and can only get soo much done.. So Sometimes, I end up on his time table..8-)
How’s Creig doing?? Did he ever bring his rig out here for Douglas love??MembadatParticipantApril 3, 2019 at 5:54 pmPost count: 42
Looking forward to seeing this thing get some love. Top arrive?
Nope didnt make it out there either, work took me out of town again so couldnt make it happen. DuDu vert is sitting in the upholstery shop as things started today for the top. Gotta say I have a lead on some new material and colours so might take a little longer than expected. If all goes well I should have it back in a week or so
Tom, excited yet? Sun is shining in WI and the snow is melted, just in time for you to be cruising the boulevard searching fah blowFranzKeymasterApril 3, 2019 at 7:41 pmPost count: 3099
Cool! Good news for you. Get that top done next week…. your cars still don’t drive worth a fuck.
Did somebody say deadline?John JonesKeymasterApril 5, 2019 at 7:25 amPost count: 5910
Douglas was here yesterday…. and will be here today too…. tops going on! 😎 Time to get some this thing moving along again!unkParticipantApril 8, 2019 at 3:24 pmPost count: 377
Doug has told me that the top is pretty much completed. Keep it rolling!! Whats next?DarioParticipantApril 8, 2019 at 3:55 pmPost count: 456
Doug worked on that top all weekend, it’s really coming together nice!!!FranzKeymasterApril 8, 2019 at 4:13 pmPost count: 3099
Haha! love it!
We’re not 100% happy with the top…
May need to rip it off and order another one. Doug can explain.unkParticipantApril 8, 2019 at 6:29 pmPost count: 377
Boo on wrinkles. This is a show winner- not a parts getter. BawawawawaFranzKeymasterApril 8, 2019 at 6:45 pmPost count: 3099
Thats what I said.
Doug was thinking he could leave it out in the sun and steam it flat…but there is only so much you can do with that.
Maybe I should talk with somebody tomorrow to see what the deal is.unkParticipantApril 8, 2019 at 8:39 pmPost count: 377
Yep. I’ve been waitimg too long to do things 1/2 way on this. If ur not satisfied, assume that i definitely wont be either.FranzKeymasterApril 9, 2019 at 8:54 amPost count: 3099
Doug is telling me that it got sewn wrong. Like the one piece of material was pushed into the machine as the other was pulled.
Not sure how to tell our parts supplier that this sucks. Worried that we’ll get the same thing on round 2.
…Maybe Doug needs to order the canvas and sew it himself. We could do a custom color then too. Plus, we can’t let Creig act like hes one-up us on a top.
