You want door pockets. Convertibles had special pockets.

I got JJ talked into Phone dials…Seems the 80’s are coming back. Anybody see the new Hot VWs with the red 1967 Buddy Hale did? So cool.

I love the 80’s look too. Brought back alot of memories.  I was reading that article in Hot VW S today. Even had the sew fine pro car seats. Cool car for sure.

You thinking black or polished phone dials?

I have been dreading door hinges and covers…but got into it and it wasn’t that bad. Stoked on the results.

Maybe I should call Mark and have him powder coat a couple caps for those wheels??

Yeah we could powder coat the dust caps to make them less obtrusive.

…But they do get installed with a hammer and removed with pliers.

I could make some spider caps that attach to lug nuts or something? Similar to Kelly’s BD or Jdawgs 64 that I worked on last year?

Drill more holes in the wheels? 🙂

Here we go. Doors on today, and body bolted down.

Samples from before when Doug was on grey piping.

Doug and I went back on forth on piping.  It was either same color piping (the red) or gray.   I ultimately looked at a lot of samba pictures and most every convertible had a complimentary piping color.    so….I decided to go with gray piping as shown with traditional stitch patterning with French seams.    Should look pretty tasty I hope.

Doug also suggested leather wrapping the split wheel.  I nixed that.   A restored 3 spoke wheel will look cool…..and I think you have that NOS split horn button that I shipped a while back.
