So cool to walk in and see some glass in this rig…Β There is something about getting them closed in…Β Β Can’t wait till the new glass gets here and we can finish up all that flat glass too!!!!Β π π π π π π π π πΒ Β I think it’s 4 weeks out though…

Beef cake adjusters.Β They really are a must… π π π
Franz and I were talking yesterday..Β He is going to build you a beam that will work with both Stock wheels and if you at some point decide you want some Fuch’s. the beam will be perfect fit for a Porsche pattern disc brake kit and some 4.5’s in the front!!!Β Disc brake kits that fit stock wheels, are usually turned down… and so, don’t work as they should/ could..Β The drum brakes when all rebuilt and fresh are great.. There are also long wait times with the guys building the good shit anymore…Β So I think this is our direction… and we can head that way without having to wait on anyone else.. π π π πΒ Β I hope Cole is back to thinking about this project… we could use a trans soon…. π π π π π

Yes, stock wheels are my choice at this time!Β Glad you knew that, haha! That seems the right answer… IF I want to go with non-stock, the mod to the disc brake kit will accommodate the Fuchs.Β Good call! -which is one of the reasons this guy feels in good hands with KCW at the wheel(s)!!!
Hell yes. Solid plan. I welded the beefcake adjusters on this morning.
Suspension paint session coming soon.

Believe it or not.. we need to order some more parts for this rig…Β The fuchin parts have gottten soo expensive, nickel and dime stuff too..Β 10 years ago, we still reused pins and clips and screws levers and switches…Β Β Brake hard lines… ALWAYS reused em… My kombi has an OG painted doveblue hardline still in it… we wouldn’t do that today.. no way!!!Β No chance..Β And the time it takes to clean up all this old shit, it’s cheaper to buy new…Β Β How many cut shift rods have we fixed??Β Not today, you order a new one…Β Just sayin…Β Β How many bumpers have we beat the heall out of and body worked??Β Not today… we order a new one… Pressed or not!Β Β It’s crazy…
anyway… Franz needs some stuff for the beam, and we need some hard brake lines and shit so we can start thinking about taking it off the Dolil!!Β But then it;s stuck on a lift till it has wheels….. hummm
Hey Cole… Trans ready?

You need to get your buddy Doug back over here to work on the interior. π Get some seat restoration moving along(at least the fronts).
I say we get the interior finished, doors on, glass in, all electrical and seals installed….then put it on the lift to install the mechanicals, Cole can bring the transaxle, we’ll set it on the ground, and roll it into his trailer. Send it to Utah for the engine install.
1776cc single port is going to be a really cool engine in this rig. It’ll look all correct n’stuff with enough power to drive interstate.
Sounds like a good planππ»

Front seats are blasted. They need a few repairs before paint.
We will build it if it comes.
Just askin’… maybe Cole can bring the trans AND the motor to KCW to finish it out completely?Β Seems almost strange to trailer it away for the final piece.Β Just open for discussion, maybe there’s something I’m missing?
Franz, any thoughts/action on the middle seat?Β I know one can be mocked up from the later model, which I think I have one of, with the straight legs welded on? Or is there one waiting in the wings somewhere?
