Get that new mount in yet?
We will build it if it comes.
Just about. I’ll have it in by tonight just welded it back together. Welding on the frame horns next. Then I’ll paint it and slap it together
Glad you got that sorted…. 😎 Seems when we dropped that cradle, it might be a little “off”…. 😎 Opps….. 😎
When you get it fixed, I want you to rev that baby up to 3000rpm in 2nd and just lift….. 😎 I bet it doesn’t buck… 😎 Bus front mounts, and hell, baja’s and anything you drive spiritedly is going to wear out nose cone mounts, especially if you have a big motor… Mine are cracking and coming apart… I think I am using those cradle mounts in a way that were not designed to be stressed…
anywho.. fix it and.. what do the kids say these days??? “SEND IT!!!!!” Send someone camping in that rig… 😎
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
Woohoo! Handled(mostly)! Got the buck issue taken care of. Took me extra long because of little things. MIG welder kept bunching up the wire and it would jam. Then I ran out of welding gas. Then one of the bolts didn’t want to slide in so I had to clearance a hole. Whatever. Just excuses. But that’s all handled now! Drives like a dream. I will have to replace both axle tube boots and refill with gear oil tomorrow. They both cracked with all this transmission bucking.
Nice Cole…. 😎

while on the subject of mid mounts…
So the WolfGang mount is not stiff enough to handle the load stand alone… You have to run a front mount with it.. the rubber pieces are soft. real soft.
The russell mount I have and now you have.. I can see it probably works best in the type 1 set up.. as the trans is pushing down on the nose.. but in the bus .. with reducs… Looks to me like maybe we are stressing the mount in the opposite direction of it intended use… I bet I have had this on no more than a year and a half.. and the mounts are starting to seperate…. 8-( I changed mine out… and will keep some with me… They are cheap mounts, and they are sold about everywhere, so I like that, and easy to change with engine and trans in… real easy…. No dual over head bug jack hanky panky….. 😎
Cole… You see when I got my mount, it was in pieces and I had to weld… I just laid it on the back…. Looks like you had to trim it perfect to weld on the top side of the square…. 😎

New boots! Those sucked…. they suck balls. My gear oily balls. I hate that stuff. Yuck.
I refilled the trans. It was a bit low. Now this thing is ready to rock! Maybe I’ll take it out to camp this week to really “test”;) haha
interesting about the mounts. Hopefully this one lasts a little while. But ya, replacing those mounts won’t be too bad. I will have to get some and keep them in the bus
Haha, cracking up on your thoughts of doing axle boots in the bus and on the ground 😆
Ya… I need a lift. And more tools. Everything goes faster at KCW for a reason. You guys are fully set up. I need to get some stuff in order if I’m going to keep upkeeping KB’s junk;) haha
Heading out for one night of camping! Going to test the BBOE out again
LOVE that bus!!! Have a great time!!!! Hi Lucy!!!!
