Heres the ‘56 single cab we just finished a 2.2 subi swap using dual throttle bodies from cb performance. I cut the stock subi intake down and use the stock injectors, then cut some type 4 dual throttle body manifolds in half, welded em up and done!
Defiantly wanna do carbs, but feel it’s a waste of carbs on a subi…kinda backwards motion.
Dual 40mm throttle bodies on a subi!! Seems like it has a lot more balls. Who knows, ass dyno…
Ill try to load a video of it running.

This Single Cab with a mid-mount Subi was at Dallas VW Dub Splash today. Pretty sweet engineering on this rig.FranzKeymasterApril 29, 2019 at 8:37 amPost count: 3539AndymParticipantApril 29, 2019 at 10:27 amPost count: 935
Kinda weird I had to lean the tune out some.. gonna install o2 sensors off each head so I can see each side.
Now if I had a small ball shifter here I could drive it..
Video for everyone!

i am very interested in this setup fir a project I have here in the UK….is this something you could offer as a kit?
what ECU are you using…..do you expect it to run as good as the stock Subaru setup?AndymParticipantApril 29, 2019 at 1:53 pmPost count: 935
You want a Dual throttle body set up?
I use microsquirt for the ecu. Stripped down basic motor controls.
Doing kits sucks, but I can do it.

Got the single cab out. It’s a fucking rocket, dual throttle bodies defiantly helped with performance. It’s a neat set up…something id do on my own car. A beetle would look cool with this set up.
Up next, vanagon, sandrail, beetle, another type 3, couple bays. And a long as rusty bus…

Built another set of 4 lug cut drums to disc kit. Same trick I’ve done a few times, cut the center of a 4 lug drum out, drill/stud it Porsche, then Chevy s10 Truck rotor.. still surprised nobody else has done it yet. It’s cheap to do!

I don’t get it.. 😎 You cut that drum down into a rotor??John JonesKeymasterMay 8, 2019 at 7:59 amPost count: 6545
ahh I see… Thats an s-10 hat you weld to the turned down drum???AndymParticipantMay 8, 2019 at 8:02 amPost count: 935
Yeah it’s an s-10 rotor, the vw drum/hub is just turned down and slid inside the hat. Tight as you can get it without press fit and without being loose and sloppy.

Do you reckon this would work on Bay Window disc spindles Andy?FranzKeymasterMay 8, 2019 at 10:25 amPost count: 3539
This is what oldspeed(Russell) has been doing for 30 years.AndymParticipantMay 8, 2019 at 10:50 amPost count: 935
Mark, yeah this would work with anything.
Franz, I thought he used Porsche hubs? I’ve never seen his kits in person.

Check this bad motha out! It was a part of the northeren California fires from last year. Got lucky as you could get.. anyways, it drove home yesterday.
Anyone need a great running 1776 type 3 engine?? That’s what came out of it.
now it’s a 2.5 subi, I rebuilt the engine. He drove it home 300 miles yesterday.. zero issues!

Good looking car! Going to be a sleeper.
