Yeah paint session was awesome. It took 11 hours of prep and paint.
Hot damm that looks radical 😬🤪😜chiny chiny ching ching
Nice Franz
Grey black?
Shiny black.
I love to watch Franz put these engines together and all the details to go into them.
We will build it if it comes.
Looking so good! Loving the touches Franz. Franz knows how to do it right. I cant wait to throw some motorcycles in the back of this thing and rip out to the desert!
Stacking the engine. I got some zinc plated parts back from the plating shop. Old Bosch logo coil bracket, on a brand new Bosch blue coil. VW logos on the trimmed pulley and cylinder tins.
I tried buffing some dirt out of the fan shroud and went a little too far. Cut into the sealer, so I sanded and repainted last night. Doh!
Fit heater boxes to the wolfsburg tube cradle and welded the bends.
That’s a nice coil bracket! It’s always good to see the vw logo too. No matter how small.
chiney mane! Lookin good
Yeah… all them details make a difference… and Franz is the detail man!!! Looking awesome!
Waiting on paint to dry on the fan shroud today. So I assembled the brand new cb performance dual 40 Weber carb kit. Alodine coating on the manifolds linkage and air filters.
12volt 105mm generator brand new from Bosch of Mexico. Dressed up to look like old 6 volt.
Are we gonna start calling you gold member? Like it!
The Alodine?? looks awesome!!!!!!!!!! I bet we have a break in run on friday!!!!! 😎
Great looking motor. Is that alodine finish the same product they use to get that golden color on old engine cases? Does it do anything to steel? I really like the look.
Is this thing gonna get a Cole Super Sump??????? 🙂
Alodine is for aluminum and mag. It has chromium in it or something to help fight corrsion. Used on aircraft stuff.
I’m ready for break-in tomorrow after we get some hose from the UPS truck.
I only have my version 1 sump left over… maybe I will have to make some more… cant wait for break in! I know KB is excited for this sc. talked to him last night
Break-in was awesome. Ran perfect. I adjusted the carbs, timing, and dropped the PennGrade oil while it was hot. Valve adjustments stayed almost the same, so I feel good about the cam wear.
Ready to install.
I got the CB Performance off road carburetor kit that came with red UNI air filters and idle jet air inlet extensions. I like it.
