    Theme for today was transmission.

Had to pull some parts from your old split trans. Had to hunt some part from the stock pile. FBAEB350-CA92-465B-8C5B-8B7AEA706FB4741FD39D-7725-4EE8-ACCE-F908411CAF73CDF4EEDA-2847-44E8-80AA-404082F2AC02

Realized backing plates I pulled from the spit case trans this morning would not work due to the donor redux boxes have been switched to later outer half’s. Backing plate fitment issues.7D97E741-FFA2-491F-9628-BAC0A5927D6A74D58AB3-687D-400B-B3A4-DCB93B04ED9B

We had a set of later backing plates sealed and painted, score!!!  We will need to order some brake parts to  accommodate the later backing plates.

What cleaners are you using to clean the tubes?

Also what method? Like what are you shoving through it to get them clean?

^^^ Stiff wire, solid throttle cable works great,  small piece of microfiber towel, break parts cleaner.

Squirt a bunch of brake clean in the tube, push the wire through, bend a small tight hook on one end, bait it with the microfiber towel, pull from opposite end of towel and hope your karma bank is full so nothing gets stuck or breaks. 7BA21043-AF33-4F9C-A9B7-3BE9585D0A06

Thanks Pat. Uh yeah the Karma thing. Hahaha. That leads me to the next question

So any advice on how to get a cable out that’s stuck in the tube. Not sure at the moment which one but it has the sheathing. And it’s stuck. I’ve sprayed all kinds of shit in it and tried pulling it out with visegrips clamped to the end and pushing it out with a solid rod.

Also it’s a deluxe bus with belly pans that are in good shape and do not need to be removed.

I am amazed that this is going to be a work truck getting all scratched and dented.    That is nuts.

Break hard lines yesterday. We’re decided to run a dual circuit MC on this one since it’s going to be a work truck.

Welded in a stud for a tee to the front brake  circuit. Need to run both fronts off the residual pressure valve because we’re not running disc brakes.

I will m finish up the last couple lines when the parts arrive. B202E968-07C0-4E1E-8554-2A7067FC4BF0DCC453FE-273E-45AA-B4C1-043ECA34DFB14C33C01B-B965-4909-A467-892F631D63D91596E8AC-68C3-40F6-BDDF-817729C7E3B7

sitting in a box where they should be if you really want to drive it much… sure a 25 will “work”  but it would suck..

Came in Saturday morning and finished up the shifter install. Total pain, but small balls need lots of love.

Parts have been stacking up for this one. 8B019473-69DB-46F8-82E4-3932C651F7580E2357A9-0C0A-4355-AD2F-003C3D5099DD21FB1524-BB4C-43FE-ABDE-194040DDDAA7

Going to finish the brake system today. Unstuck, blasted and rattle can painted some OG brake  hardware. Fresh German rear drums epoxy sealed, paint when dry. Assembling front wheel cylinders now. 97104F15-6FDB-4017-A386-C720EEAA6D94783A8755-C032-45D3-93A8-F1FA7CBE20DC9A3D380C-CFF7-4AA3-873E-E35C04BFF81254923D96-19BF-4ADE-958D-849EB7FAD448
