More engine tin fits and repair. Original lower cyl tin. Empi breast plate and front tin trimmed to 25hp engine bay. Generator big nut from Stoddard. Modified pulleys to look thin lip. Regulator modified to mount on the generator. Double barrel draft tube.
Heater box and exhaust fitment to go.
Getting the old school mods… 😎 By Dr Franz… 😎 Super glad to see Franz back on this one… This is such a cool truck!!!
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
Original heater boxes with big elements always work the best. Cleaned the insides, straitened dents, welded flanges, and modified the outlets to snake around the Wolfsburg (tube type) transaxle cradle.
The tin is looking good. Finalized, blasted, & ready to prep for paint.
Franz was here LATE painting your tin last night!! Dr Franz… The clean shop surgeon!!!! Thanks for being awesome Franz!!! Thanks for always getting it done!!! Thanks for 15 years of dedicated service to the VW industry!!!!! 😎 😎
Random fact for the KCW forums…. Threads were the owner doesn’t post up … are boring 😎

Nice Franz Grey black?
Shiny black.
I love to watch Franz put these engines together and all the details to go into them.
We will build it if it comes.
Looking so good! Loving the touches Franz. Franz knows how to do it right. I cant wait to throw some motorcycles in the back of this thing and rip out to the desert!
Stacking the engine. I got some zinc plated parts back from the plating shop. Old Bosch logo coil bracket, on a brand new Bosch blue coil. VW logos on the trimmed pulley and cylinder tins.
I tried buffing some dirt out of the fan shroud and went a little too far. Cut into the sealer, so I sanded and repainted last night. Doh!
Fit heater boxes to the wolfsburg tube cradle and welded the bends.
That’s a nice coil bracket! It’s always good to see the vw logo too. No matter how small.
chiney mane! Lookin good
Yeah… all them details make a difference… and Franz is the detail man!!! Looking awesome!
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
