7mm petcock arrived yesterday. I’m going to sandblast the gas tank and get it ready for paint today.
Then I’m going to switch gears and work on putting the race car back together.
No rear bumper on early barndoors…so you get full view of the a1 sidewinder. I also located 4 original 14mm head apron bolts.ColeBModeratorDecember 17, 2019 at 9:17 amPost count: 1502
Love those little details, thanks Franz. Looks like you guys will be getting a care package from Mark L soon. He is sending today from the east coast. Some of it may not be needed, so we can just grab that stuff when we pick up the bus.FranzKeymasterDecember 18, 2019 at 10:00 pmPost count: 3377

Franz is killing it!
ya, orange lens is a euro lens. It will do until we can source a red US spec one.
kb pulled out some of the cool info we got from the previous owners. As you know they were very meticulous. Cool og brochure and birth certificate. Been talking with Patrick Hall because this truck is close in production to the deluxe he just pulled out of Canada. I think this truck was maybe on that first Canadian vw shipment with that deluxe. The shipment was nov 52 and this truck was finished the month prior. Pretty cool history! Going to keep talking to Patrick to find out more!FranzKeymasterDecember 20, 2019 at 9:15 amPost count: 3377
Do you have a date on the picture Cole?
That would be insane if its the same truck.
