Original heater boxes with big elements always work the best. Cleaned the insides, straitened dents, welded flanges, and modified the outlets to snake around the Wolfsburg (tube type) transaxle cradle.

The tin is looking good. Finalized, blasted, & ready to prep for paint.

    Shiny black.

I love to watch Franz put these engines together and all the details to go into them.

We will build it if it comes.

Stacking the engine. I got some zinc plated parts back from the plating shop. Old Bosch logo coil bracket, on a brand new Bosch blue coil. VW logos on the trimmed pulley and cylinder tins.

I tried buffing some dirt out of the fan shroud and went a little too far. Cut into the sealer, so I sanded and repainted last night. Doh!

Fit heater boxes to the wolfsburg tube cradle and welded the bends.
